It may appear strange to you, but every single platform headwall on LU has one!! I still say it looks strange - with the white X looking like someone's been down to cancel out the sign (as it's no longer used and they can't be bothered removing it), rather than it being an official looking sign :-) Yes, it was Westbound

15A 3 pin was untill about a decade ago used regularly for theatre and stage lighting. 15A 3 pin is still used regularly for theatre and stage lighting... 5A (3-Pin) is still occasionally used too, although not quite as often these days.

While waiting at HOTH tonight for a seemingly missing Uxbridge service I spotted a couple of things which I'd like to ask about: - Beyond the southbound end of Platform 5 (I assume it's southbound... city-bound at least!) there's an 'S8 style sign which, instead of the usual 'S8' in the middle shows 'SR' - is this for stopping for reversing, or does it mean something completely different? - At the City-Bound end of Platform 2, there's also an S8 marker post - but you can't go down to the city from Platform 2 on LUL trains as there's no 3rd Rail thingy beyond there... is this presumably a stopping point if there's a service suspension from HOTH -> City where there's shuttle services to each destination running? - Why does HOTH always seem to be cold? OK, not sure you can actually answer this one, but never mind

Hmm, my gut would have said District somewhere between Hammersmith and Acton Town...
I'd go Chiswick Park + 1 at a guess though.

If it was just on event days it would be useful, because certainly when I've been to events at Olympia, the District Trains have always been full leaving Olympia.
It's also handy coming from the Uxbridge branch to have a District service too, as it's easy to change at Earls Court.

The problem with the driver speaking is that, well, they don't... at least not on the A Stock. I did here one complate about the automatic announcements, and that was that it makes it harder to sleep on the trains

How long should trains on the Central Line (on a Sunday) give you to get on and off a train?
We were travelling on one yesterday (West Ruislip -> Epping, Car #93250, Train 006 apparently) which was giving passengers about 7 seconds to get on and off at most stations between West Ruislip and Holborn! I'll know the time when my journey appears on the Oyster website...

I saw 451 at Baker Street yesterday, and certainly the side displays in the middle of the train were saying '451 Metropolitan Line / Semi-Fast / Watford'

I have to say, a lot of the discussion sounds to me like people are just scared of change...
The only bad thing I can find to walkthrough trains is the ability to get away from annoying people are in your carriage.

From previous experience as a passenger arriving there, trains don't seem to reverse - they arrive to the same platform they would depart from.
In the past this has been Uxbridge on Platform 6, and Watford on Platform 5 from memory...

Thanks to MetControl and his timetabled runs list, I write this post from train 21010 on it's way to Uxbridge. Having now experienced S-Stock, I have to say the remining trains can't come quick enough Although I do think the "Walk-through carriages" poster lies... Couldn't walk through it when it left Baker Street due to volume of people. One drawback is that braking currently seems a bit erratic!

So, if it hit an object laying trackside, then presumably that was not really it's fault? Could it not also have been an A-Stock that hit it too at some poinit later in the day?
I presume this is the 'obstruction on the track' that TFLs website is talking about.

I have never found the A stock too hot, the hopper windows and R door windows allowed enough air in for me anyway. Try being stuck in them in the blazing sun (due to signal failure) on one of the warmest days of the year... Hopefully, one of the regular photographers will be out to capture the A stock departing by road, too.

Don't forget that each train currently needs a train operator and an accompanying instructor operator. Why do they still need instructor operators? I'm assuming there's a good reason, but i was intrigued as to what it was... One of these days, I'll be lucky to actually get on an S-Stock

Why would TFL think that the District Line would be suspended due to something at Wembley Park? Very strange... Actually, on reflection... I get the feeling it's meant to be Wimbledon Park, but someone put the wrong station code / text in.

I'm guessing from this thread that it's Correct Side Door Enable... stops the drivers opening the doors on the wrong side at platforms.
