I don't mind the program, but it really annoys me with the constant flitting between 'story arcs'.

Maybe it can do that route in one direction but not the other? I assume the curvatures and clearances may be different in different directions...

There's a nagging thought in my head that suggests it might be reportable if it causes passenger delays... but that may well be "7. An accident or incident that is likely to result in suspension of a railway service for a period in excess of 6 hours." that I'm thinking of which may not apply here as I don't believe it was suspended.

The issue with barcodes is that they take noticeably longer to read at the barrier. My experience reading barcodes in Amsterdam last week would not seem to agree with that; it read them quite quickly - as did the readers on the trams. If you want to use a 'paper' ticket in Amsterdam, at least, you pay an addition €1 from what I could tell last week, but it's not a paper ticket in the strictest sense, as it has some form of RFID built in to it.

I will aim to try and attend, but it may well depend on whether I need to work or not!

I assume it's something to do with the fact that there were 10 clues and The Wizard has 10k posts?

Somebody forgot to add Overground to the interchange signing on the Elizabeth line areas at Liverpool Street. Lots of vinyl roundels added to the front of the glass signs (other information printed on the back of the glass). I noticed that as well... very bizarre!

But was it Network Rail's Rail Head Treatment Train or the Chiltern Railways converted class 117 water jetter? I'm not sure if the latter is still running, but I have seen it in years past. The Class 117 Water Jetter doesn't run now... Part of it is currently stabled at Princes Risborough on the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway, and other bits are somewhere else I think.

I thought at one point there was plans for heritage stock to be included in the 4LM work, or was I imagining that? It may, of course, have been descoped for budget reasons too!

This is true although there is an advantage to a human voice, it gets peoples attention while they often don't hear a recorded one. Quite - this is a key point to me... the automated announcements may become repetitive and then regular users may switch off to them. I assume this is why the Jubilee at Wembley Park has a different voice for when the train terminates there...

It could well have been a 66 to be fair, I really can't remember - it just surprised me greatly at the time

I remember a Diesel Loco shunting ballast up and down the Met line around Ickenham sometime in the last 10 years.

I’ve worked from home permanently before and have been for nearly 3 weeks now... there’s nothing I can’t do from home (apart from when one of the VPNs ends up with new IPs!) that I can’t do in the office - but we are all noticing that the ability to just wander to someone’s desk is a bit of a pain... The only thing missing is interacting with people directly!

New SMA 3 go live date is the weekend of 25th & 26th July 2020 (operational proving weekend 30th & 31st May 2020). That seems a long time between proving it and go live...

I’d concur with Little Venice. I’d suggest it was taken on an early May Bank Holiday weekend during the Inland Waterways Association’s Canal Cavalcade event... I wonder if it was last year when The Apprentice visited.

There is a booked reverse on the Met around midnight which runs semi-fast to Harrow and empty to Rayners before returning (still empty) to Neasden depot. That seems a bit weird, why not just run it empty back from Harrow?

Nice to see they've done some deforestation at Ickenham now, though :-) (Possibly even more as they make it step-free...)

I',m glad you stated your source... otherwise you looked good for your age! Surely all that track damage couldn't have been caused by the derailment directly???

Is it just me or is the thumbnail for the C clue the right way up and the zoomed in version the wrong way up?
That’s confused me tonight!

d7666 - I wondered if the Princes Risborough - Aylesbury shuttle that used to be run by the Class 121 Bubble Cars would be suitable for Class 230s...

Chiltern are doing quite a few short forms too for various reasons so that could be a contributing factor.

At the moment the Island Line is down to one serviceable train according to local reports. an hourly service with no back-up. Last week (Wednesday) they were definitely running more than one train...

The 1741 won't start at Baker Street, but will start 27mins earlier from 10 mins up the line?
