In 1973 I remember boarding a Grange Hill via Woodford train @ Ruislip Gardens.

Who remembers the C stock with the transverse seats? I do ;D

The 2nd picture seems to be taken inside an A60. IIRC, they had red padding on the seats; the A62s had gray padding...

I still miss the old "Standard stock" on the Central in the 1950s. I remember the UNDM's (?) that were inserted onto some 1938 stock trains on the Bakerloo during the early 70s

My guess is that this is the early '80s, possibly during a CO/CP Stock tour? I'm guessing it is no later than 1971, with the CO/CP stock, coming from the Hammersmith & City, maybe on its way to stable @ Neasden depot after the morning peak.

EDIT: The set number is 62, which I'm sure would have been an inter-peak stabler. That would imply an uncoupled Watford service.

there's some pictures. Good pics. In the top pic, is that a CO/CP train on the right? Was the top pic taken @ Baker St or Aldgate?

I have read at least one story about a C stock diverted to Uxbridge from the Circle @ Baker St. But I also wonder if a C stock deputized to cover the Ealing Broadway service has ever inadvertently wandered on the Piccadilly past Ealing Common.

1938 stock I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 1938 stock ran on the Metropolitan line between Wembley Park and Stanmore before that branch was taken over by the Bakerloo. I also saw a picture of the same stock at Charing Cross Jubilee before that line was opened to the public. Alas this is reliant on my memory rather than being able to give proper references. Similarly, didn't the District allow Standard Stock from the Picc to work thru to South Harrow until the 1932 handover of that branch to the Picc?

I remember one Met stabling in Uxbridge's platform 1 between the peaks M-F. Wasn't there also an era when a Piccadilly train stabled in one of Uxbridge's platforms between the peaks?

Were the trains used on this temporary shuttle borrowed from the regular Picc service?

During the era of off-peak uncoupling, there was an interpeak stabler that used Uxbridge's platform 1, rather than the sidings.

If the District Line had held onto the Hounslow and Uxbridge branches - with the Piccadilly Line ending at Acton Town - would the line have been able to cope with the frequencies involved in extending the Hounslow branch to Heathrow? What changes might have been made to the existing pattern and level of service? Perhaps Upminster-Wimbledon/Richmond Tower Hill-Heathrow/Uxbridge with alternate Uxbridge branch trains serving Ealing Broadway How would Rayners and Ruislip figured in to short Districts had they kept the Uxbridge branch?

Since I've noticed the "Travelling beyond Queens Park" poster, is there a "Travelling beyond Rayners Lane" poster going towards the Piccadilly Line platforms ?

Then there was the blue and green moquette used on the 1973 Piccadilly Line stock, Bakerloo and Northern Line 1956/1959 stocks, Circle, District and H&C Lines C stock as well as LS, DM, DMS and SMS and refurb RF buses. Are there any links to seeing this on the refurbed RF's? And was this moquette applied to the RF's that London Country inherited from LT in 1970?

And there was black/red/grey used on the Met's A stock, the Central's 1962 TS and the Victoria Line 1967 TS, 1972 TS and some District R stocks. Wasn't this moquette also used on Q stock trains? IIRC, I have seen a picture of the Acton Museum with the Q stock having it.

Would the 83s have been a good fit for segments like the Chesham Shuttle, the Olympia Shuttle, the Hainault Loop, or the W&C?

In the past, they were used regularly in the off peak. Lots of shorts ex-Marble Arch and ex-White City IIRC. Plus when the 92 stocks were introduced, weren't there also some ex-West Ruislip off-peak shorts using that siding?

Was that the prevailing architecture style for original District stations on the South Harrow line?
