This was discussed recently, especially regarding what appeared to be red doors on the C stock!
It is around 1970 and both C69 and 1967 stock are fresh out of the box and waiting to enter service. The closest tube stock is the 1962 stock then on the Central Line

When brand new, unpainted aluminum bodied stocks looked really good.

I guess the 67 stock was just delivered to LT.

I will admit to having a bit of a 67TS bias, however I think wraparound windscreens look extremely great, as did Unpainted Aluminium. Put them together and what do you get? A timeless and great looking train!

A timeless and great looking train! Bring them back. The 09s must have the most boring train interiors and the windows are so small it looks odd!

In my personal opinion, If LUL suddenly rolled out some of the stored 67TS in unpainted aluminium with a redone interior, they'd pass for a new train. Like I said, Timeless

An interesting point point about unpainted aluminium was found when the time came to put roundels on A60/62 stock. When the LONDON TRANSPORT transfers were removed the letters could still be seen as the bare aluminium was raised above the rest of the body panels. They had to be sanded down.

The ghosting on the A stock and 59/62 stock was always apparent until refurb/withdrawl!

Yes and the R38/49 cars which had the 'V' painted on the first silver/painted cars never quite vanished either.
