Switch it on, speak through a microphone and out comes your voice a lot louder than when it went in. Simples.

Does the book give details of what Sarah did and does it give any information regarding John Hampden.

Whistlekiller, as an ex Met employee the Met has to stay with LUL/TfL. Wouldn't be right to transfer it to Chiltern. I say bring back Pullmans between Chesham and Aldgate. Waiters on the "S" stock now there's food for thought. Imagine what Boris could crow about. "Luxury travel returns to London Underground"

Does crusty54 have direct access to God. He's the only one that may have heard of the Amersham-Watford Junction service

A big cheer for Phil. I was right it was Edgware then where 95TS Sim was based, As a Station Sup on the Northern I was given the chance to try the one at Edgware very interesting it was as well. Learnt a lot. that was until one on trial "Load Shed" I think that was the term that was used in my S/B platform at Goodge St. No one seemed to be able to fix it. Caused a bit of fuss as it was approaching the peak. Halcyon days. Perhaps they should have called the AA

As an ex member of LTM staff I would like to ask if people realise how much the simulators at Neasden cost. I strongly suspect an absolute fortune. In addition I have actually " driven" the 95Ts version simulator which if my memory serves me was based at Edgware. It was and I expect still is extremely lifelike at a cost. Secondly the LTM is a charity now so they certainly have to be careful what they spend their money on. When I worked there the simulators were always considered to be just for fun. I would assume that situation is still the same.
Finally if by some stretch of the imagination the LTM did obtain one of the "Neasden" type simulators who would operate it and secondly who would maintain it. They are extremely complex pieces of kit

Thanks to everyone who has sent me photos recently. Due to a combination of internet connection trouble and university deadlines I haven't been able to sort them all out into the stock yet. I plan to do this over the next week, replying to everyone as their photos are sorted. On a separate note, I am from now on considering Paddington as having two LU stations rather than 1 - H&C/Bishop's Road and Praed Street/other lines. This is so that the number of stations my database has matches the number LU say they have (and I'm inclined to think they might know). Chris are you sure they know. They might do now but I don't think they did in the past. I was always concerned that when I spoke to the "old man" from Croxley he didn't know we existed.

I think I am right in saying that Baker St and Gt Portland St Stns were built at a different time to Regent's Park.
As regard to Londonstuff's photo; I think that building had long gone before the Wellcome Trust Building was ever thought of. But on reflection is this not the North side of Euston Rd?

I stand corrected. Must be the buses where I live only. Don't see many, 1 every 2 hrs 0700 then 0800 up until 1800hrs and that's you lot.

Aren't the yellow handrails something to do with the DDA? I seem to recall that yellow is the easiest colour for people with sight issues to see. I think you are correct. I seem to recall all buses have yellow grab rails. They don't operate on the Circle Line.

northwoodterry, Watford Stn was always eerily quiet apart from the peaks. Sunday's were awful. On a Sunday evening we would be lucky to see half a dozen passengers after 1900hrs. Worse at Croxley. To give you some idea how quiet Watford used to be on one late turn on Xmas Eve I took less than £12 for the whole of the shift.

I think this discussion could get a bit heavy. The point I was trying to make is that my staff or myself would obviously take action but no way interfere. You can never tell if someone might have a needle in their hand. I was never paid to get pin stuck or even bitten. Friday/Saturday nights could sometimes be like a battleground at times and there weren't always police around or within a short distance. Forget how wonderful it might look on the TV. I spent 16 yrs on LUL a lot of the time on my own asking for penalty fares at eleven at night. Cloud cuckoo land. Me was important no one else.

As an ex station supervisor I can categorically state that no way would've I intervened or allowed my staff to do so. If the incident had occurred on a platform and the member of staff ended up on the track imagine the possible consequences. My prime concern as Stig says is the Health & Safety of my staff.

I can remember the cats at Barbican when I was there in 1989. However I believe there were two can't remember their names but I'm sure the names had something to do with the name of the station " BARBI" or something like that for one of them.
