Slightly OT but on a similar note, try missing the Northbound M11 exit for Stansted! Bang, 25 miles - half an hour added to the trip!

You shouldn't lean on the doors.
On the older stock it can cause loss of door closed visuals so the train can't move.
Otherwise I wouldn't lean on an electronically operated door, electrics can and do go wrong!

It's an interesting one, you purchased a particular service, wasn't given this service so had to use a different one on offer.
So by tfl logic you still used a service provided by them.
However it wasn't the service you first wanted!

Not long ago before the low floor buses my mother had to fold the buggy, carry me and any bags/shopping onto the bus up two steps as well as pay the driver.
This whole terrifying situation can be simplified. -Never leave anything unattended on platforms that could be blown onto the tracks; be it suitcases, bags or especially a buggy with a child in it! -Don't start a journey you can't finish -Don't go on the tracks to retrieve personal items.
I agree wholly with Aslefshrugged in the enforcement of the conditions of carriage, they mostly make sense. However Diana is also right in that the pushchair designs are too complicated requiring two levers to be pulled to fold it up and if the journey can be completed without the need to fold it why should it! As has been said it protects the child (if not left unattended!)
The other day I witnessed an argument on the bus; there was already one pushchair in the wheelchair space, somebody boards from the rear with another larger pushchair then goes to tap their Oyster card at the front of the bus. Another pushchair is about to get on at the front (which was queuing with everybody else) and the driver tells the person with the large pushchair to leave as they should have boarded the front and that the pushchair boarding at the front was before them. Large pushchair starts shouting that their pushchair is too big to get down the aisle so they have to get on the back! I couldn't help thinking that maybe they should have bought a pushchair more suitable to their needs then. In the end the pushchair getting on at the front was folded.
Well done to the train operator for stopping the train! Good thing it wasn't a driverless train!

At Cockfosters it has to do if assisted dispatch is required. As Platform 3 is a Category A the driver can dispatch themselves if there is a problem with the OPO equipment. Platform 2 used to be a Category B which required staff assistance if there was a problem with the OPO equipment. Both platforms are now category A I believe so it shouldn't make that much of a difference anymore. Are you sure you have the definitions of category A and B the correct way around? *Doh* should have spotted that one before posting! I blame it on being on a long break from work at the time! I've edited the original post now.

Does it trigger the extra information on the zone 1 stations announcements? E.g. "Alight for the RNIB" or "Alight for Buckingham Palace"? Or are these via a timeclock? This is done through a route code with the instructions being given as Destination-Route Code-Start Station. Route code is also used for stopping a Turnham Green or not and if going round the T4 Loop or not. As shown in the menu pictured above, depending what route Code is used you could still turn off the Tourist Announcements, or even just the interchange bit. But this only seems to work in stations, the next announcement between stations normally bugs and the system kind of resets back to default with all options on (except the chime).

On the Picc the West end normally isn't signed off on Down Street and the East end isn't signed off on entering Northfields depot from the West end.

In the evening every 1 in 3 trains start to terminate at Oakwood from just after 2300; this equates to about 1 every 10 minutes.
In the morning 4 trains stable from Oakwood roughly between 10 and 12 and as stated previously in the thread these come out again for the evening peak between roughly 16 and 17.
