The DDA has actually been replaced by the Equalities Act 2010 but many of the provisions of the DDA remain in it.

I wonder when a D stock was last at Neasden for wheel turning and ran via Rayners?

Liverpool Street reversers can also continue empty to Aldgate to reverse. This was the case in 2007 before the line was fully open to Aldgate after the bombings.
There was a Farringdon destination on the A stock blind too but I'm sure it got little use.

I think I'll give them a try too. I'm planning on having a 6 car train of 1938 stock with either one of the motor cars or trailers double equipped. When the 1938 stock started to run on the Bakerloo 6 car trains were used until after the war as platform lengthening wasn't finished and there were still large numbers of standard stock trains around. I therefore think it is not unreasonable that some test runs were made up to harrow on the hill and back!!

Might have to get some for my 1938 stock. Will two Endos power a 6 car train with ease?

Yes Paul Moss has included some great photos in his book. The 1923 motor car photo would be an excellent reference.
Those lamp shades would be pinched I'm sure!!

No believe towerman is right. I believe even today using the 33xx cab is preferred for shunting due to the convenient nature of the controls.

Yes that early 23-25 batch had all the rivets standing proud on the body. Perhaps there are some photos from the Isle of Wight kicking about.

Quite the reverse actually. There were too many passengers trying to use the station, especially as the fares were cheaper closer to town the roads became crowded so NSE were encouraged to cease use of the station.
Under the current timetable provisions it is unlikely that this will change!

The benefit Bank has is there is an island platform. At Waterloo, if expensive alterations were made to create a crossover at the north end of the station the two separate platforms will limit the benefits.
If carryovers were accommodated it would be better as it limits the need for tip out time. Ultimately, the W&C is a great candidate for ATO.

Ian Huntley's book surface stock plan book suggests that the district locos originally were painted in crimson lake with stained wood doors and window frames.
They were later I imagine painted in train red before they were withdrawn in 1939.

Didn't know that thanks. The 1972mk2 stock was built for stage one of the jubilee as stated but it was built 5 years early because the 1973 stock was some time away and to ensure met cammell had work on and wouldn't get wound up. The 1938 stock was having real troubles by the early 70s and being such a large fleet needed gradual replacement. The 1972 mk1 stock was an easy solution in the short term so the worst 210 cars of 38 stock could go. In reality much of the 1949 stock was scrapped by the mid 70s along with the '58 trailers which were now 45 years old! The mk2 stock was able to allow another 33 trains of 38 stock to go. Ultimately the 38ts was replaced by 4 different tube stocks over a time period of 17 years! The 56/59 stock transfer to the northern allowed the mk2 stock to get onto the Bakerloo. Some returned to the northern in the 80s when 1983 stock started on the jubilee. The Bakerloo then had a mix of 1938/59 stock - interesting times indeed!

The Bakerloo has had enough had me downs! The 1972 mk 2 stock started out on the Bakerloo, but in the divorce from the Jubilee the latter got to keep them - only to give them back when it got the 83s! Actually the 1972mk2 stock entered service on the northern line and was ultimately intended to be used on the Bakerloo line. Initially the plan was for it to be used on the jubilee line until the new extensions were built and a new larger fleet of purpose built automatic stock was built. This eventually happened if course but not quite as planned!

Quite agree. I'd love to be using the 72 stock for the next 20 years! My favourite trains still in service by far.

Not really. It was only then that the original name for part of the line was resurrected and applied to the section that now bears its name (excluding, obviously, the circle line element that was added later and lead to a slight name change). Finding out stuff like this is what make this sort of thread so good and why such threads should never be discouraged. Yes, and for many years the H&C has shared its timetable with the Circle line, even when it was part of the Met. In the early days there may have been some sharing but I think in the more recent past with completion of the conversion of metadyne to PCM equipment a on the O stock and the lengthening of circle line trains to 6 cars in the early 60s allowed a dual fleet based at Hammersmith to be formed and it's never looked back.

Worth asking Phil if he will do them?
You may have to make your own otherwise. Not too difficult you need to get some transfer paper and a colour printer. Scan the images you need and hey presto!
