I do not know if Redbridge station was affected but the A406 and A12 directly above it were also inundated and had to be partially closed - a very dramatic move! Newbury Park station does not normally flood but when there is heavy rain the passageways below the A12 Eastern Avenue which allow people from the southern side of the road to reach the station sometimes become inundated.. Redbridge and Newbury Park remained open, however Gants Hill closed at 1600 and Leytonstone at 1820. A landslide at Grange Hill added to the issues.

The 12th was surreal! We got on at Pimlico, and it was just spitting. By the time we got to Victoria the announcements were coming thick and fast. "The Hammersmith and City line is suspended." "The Circle line is part suspended." "The Metropolitan line is part suspended." "The Central line is suspended between Marble Arch and White City." To anyone unfamiliar with the layout of LU (and hence probably not suspecting the the Met, Hammersmith and City and Circle line suspensions were likely caused by a common factor), it must have been quite unsettling. By the time we got to Euston the Circle line was no longer being mentioned so we backtracked to Green Park and got to Shepherd's Bush, skipping a few stations along the way. There was also District suspended Earl's Court-Embankment and Earl's Court-Edgware Road (flooding affecting equipment at Gloucester Road)- problems were still occurring on Friday 16 July Circle H&C were suspended after an eastbound train went into deep floodwater in Royal Oak dip, train not recovered until Tuesday 13 July. Flooding in tunnels around Baker Street also added to that. Barons Court, Bond Street, Cannon Street, Chalk Farm, Earl's Court, Edgware Road (both), Golders Green, Hampstead, High Street Kensington, Holland Park, Kilburn Park, Marble Arch, Marylebone, Notting Hill Gate, Regent's Park, Sloane Square, South Kensington - stations were all closed at the height of the storm on 12 July.

Seems we fared considerably better than the storms of 12 July, with no Line closures this morning and only Stepney Green closed because of overnight flooding.

When the extension opens, I’m assuming that the loop will only be able to hold one train without disrupting trains to and from Battersea? Correct, only one train

There are trains running to Morden via Charing Cross, which only usually happens during the weekday peaks. Is this connected with trial running to Battersea, thus reducing the number of trains which can use the Kennington loop? The weekday services from Morden via Charing Cross are not in the peak periods, they are at the extreme of the day. This weekend:

Ah right. Any updates in the W&C examples yet? I understand a 2-car unit (possibly 006) is being worked upon at Waterloo.

So line control seemingly restarted around 9pm yesterday, and Chiltern did manage to run a few evening services over the met line. But as far as I can tell there were no Met Line services at all after 9pm despite the line being open? District services to Edgware Road resumed around 2130. MET, Circle and PICC ((South Harrow-Uxbridge) remained suspended until close

Does anyone know why the 'Doors not in use' signs sometimes flash just before doors open or just after they close? It doesn't happen every time, but it's fairly common. It depends if the train has accurately stopped exactly on the mark, if it’s just slightly outside tolerance the cab and car light will appear to flash on and off repeatedly.

The first two roads in the new AC14 workshop in Acton Works are hoped to be handed over at the end of this month and the first production CLIP train for full refurbishment accepted soon afterwards.

If they had 9 car trains on the Northern line, I am sure there was no selective door opening, so did doors open on the carriages that were stuck in the tunnels? As mentioned in the quoted article the ‘special’ NDM cars had the ability for the Guard to cut-out the end cars.

No Bakerloo Line services from 19:00 today. Customers are advised to complete their journeys by 17:30. BBC's Tom Edwards on Twitter claimng it due to shortage of control room staff but while I was writing this the status has changed to "good service" so maybe some of the staff have returned to work BBC News - No Tube trains to Wembley Central before Euro 2020 final www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-57794837already updated to say a Controller has been found to cover this evening!

Hey all, I just passed WG150 on Southbound Putney Bridge approach and was wondering, since the layout change, is WG150 still a speed controlled signal? Thanks 30mph restriction applies, I’m sure the approach control was removed

How does the new Picc stock train length compare with the 9car pre-38 stock Northern line operation that was done just before WW2 (or whenever it was; date is unimportant here) ? I went looking and can't seem to find exact train formation by car type to get the lengths right. Gives the train formations: www.lurs.org.uk/03%20nov%20NINE%20CARS%20ON%20THE%20NORTHERN.pdf1938 9-car formations: DM-NDM×SNDM-T-NDM-T–SNDM×NDM-DM (SNDM= special NDM with door operating equipment and handbrake

I’m trying to remember the last time I was aware of a train using p2 or p3 from the east! Can only go into pfm.2 from east after using shunt-ahead from pfm.1. No direct access into pfm.2 from east

Stepping-back of District trains at Edgware Road is on the cards, possibly not for WTT152 in September but soon after, to provide a 7½min frequency or lower. What changes are happening with WTT152 in September 2021 ? Nothing too much for the District, mostly to accommodate the changes to the faster running time of Circle H&C trains Hammersmith-Whitechapel/Tower Hill and the retiming and service changes across the Piccadilly Line. Metropolitan will also have additional City trains in the peak as well as faster running from Finchley Road-Aldgate

There is no spare platform capacity at Edgware Road to reverse another or higher level of service, remember 1 bay platform reverses the Circle Line, the other bay platform reverses the District, with each on a 10 minute service pattern, and needing at least 5 minutes (preferably more) to reverse the train, there's no room for anything else. Stepping-back of District trains at Edgware Road is on the cards, possibly not for WTT152 in September but soon after, to provide a 7½min frequency or lower.

I do not believe for one moment that anyone would even consider devolving the local track circuit system of ultimate train protection to a centralised computer system as it could never offer the same level of protection. So, from an efficiency of overall control perspective, computerised system and do an admirable job, but for ultimate train protection, something more basic and robust is needed. CBTC does not use track circuits

There were some unusually extended headway’s on the Victoria line on Saturday (26 June) running a max 5 mins service instead of the timetabled 120 seconds for most of the line on Saturdays. What exactly was going on that day? Sat 26 June - 19 train special service (usually 33) was operated due to shortage of Control room staff and later the shortage of trainstaff.
