Yes the Little Bus Company C stock was all resin and by all accounts was quick to bow. The warm water trick does work and I've used it on Dreadnought resin roofs.
Their Q stock was also all resin and indeed bowed, ask Glyn!! ;D

I had nothing to lose so I went for it this evening! I boiled the kettle filled the bowl with just off boiling water and placed the C69 stock in it. Applied a hardly any pressure and it was like butter in my hands and they went straight. I did the same with bodies and had to be careful not to distort the sides. Finally I placed them all in the freezer for 10 mins. To stop them distorting again I will brace both the chassis's and the bodes with hollow square section plastistrut Xerces Fobe

I won't be there but hope it goes well.
Glad the C stock came out ok. I've decided that when I'm designing resin kits I will infill the gap between the draught screens to stop the body sides warping. Then the user can cut the infill piece(s) out just before fixing to the chasis.
All my cars have a centre fixing bar anyway with a screw which allows me to take the body on and off.

Utterly superb sir. Those 'monkey cages' really look the part and a 25 in early blue too. Fantastic! Do you have any plans to include a 58 trailer in your Bakerloo sets?

Do you have any plans to include a 58 trailer in your Bakerloo sets? The Oerlikon is under construction - the roof is a problem I think it will have to be made out of wood. I have some reliability issues to address on the newer 501's and the tube stock first though as we will be at the Amersham Show in April 58 trailer? Glyn are you referring to the standard stock trailers as I am considering purchasing one from Radley Models at Acton this coming weekend. Then no more purchases for a while whilst I trawl through all the other kits I have to build! Xerces Fobe

That's right. Standard stock trailers were a feature of Bakerloo sets of 38TS up until 1973 so go for it. I was tempted to put one in one of my sets but I don't think I can get away with one on the Piccadilly! The only downside with the Radley kit is that it doesn't feature ribbed doors as per most of the 58 trailers. To be honest I would leave it as it is such a small detail. Some of the trailers had doors that just had an inset panel rather than ribs anyway. Matching the colour of the EFE stock is a different matter... Good luck.

58 trailer? Glyn are you referring to the standard stock trailers The "58" trailers confusingly had nothing to do with 1958 - they were 1927-vintage vehicles built by Metro-Carriage originally as gate stock replacement stock. They were originally numbered in the range 1102-1219. Most were for the Hamptead Line but the last eleven (1209-1219) were for the Piccadilly and differed from the rest in having no ribbing on the doors. (There were other differences in the builds, but these mainly affected the motor coaches). The trailers were renumbered in the 1931 scheme to 7453-7570, (in order except that 1102 became 7570) and those converted in 1938/39 were renumbered again in the series 70513-70570, where possible simply by inserting a "0" after the initial "7" of the number. Those selected for conversion included all but one of the Piccadilly's cars (the exception being 7568), so the absence of ribbing on the doors would be correct for 17% of the fleet! All information from Brian Hardy's "Underground Train File"

Any details about the Amersham Show, please? If you can't "advertise", can you please PM me.
Thanks

70513-70570 inclusive = 58 cars, hence the confusing title which has nothing to do with 1958!

Just to clear it all up, it is important to describe these cars as the 58 trailers not 58 tube stock!
Back to modelling...
It is tough to get the 1927ts car in the EFE set as the couplings, ride height and most importantly the colour differ, not something I have the answer to yet....

Fitting Metromodels bogies and bars will help as it will ensure that the coupling height is the same as my EFE 38 stock which is so fitted. I was going to do some UNDM running at Abingdon but I had problems with the tube stock - so a works visit is scheduled for them before Amersham Show. Xerces Fobe

Hey, Glyn, - not that it is any of my business, but - do your kids get to (or want to) help out with the models and layout?

I have three girls aged 11, 9 and 7. They don't get involved with my stuff as trains are not 'cool' to todays young females! Not only that, I know that if I turned my back I would be greeted by a shy little face saying 'Dad, Your train crashed. It's alright though... You can build it again!'.
That having been said, my youngest wants me to finish the loft so that I can set her 'Underground Ernie' stuff up there. As mentioned elsewhere I have an 18'X12' space up there that will provide sanctuary for when they hit their 'teens.
Any serious interest in railways would be severely beaten out of them by my beloved Wife! Building the show layout that has been inspired by 'Croxley' and others will be a covert operation akin to the bulding of the 'Colditz' glider! I just hope that I won't have to knock a wall down to get it out of the house.....

My other half has attended some shows with the layout and does help out. She also brings a book to read and if there is a town with clothes shops job done! Unfortunately my son has less than no interest in anything to do with railways. Window bars from Class 501's can be a sore point especially when you lose one on the floor and you other half is barefoot and on the way to the shower. Telling here it is all the fault of the Hampstead tunnel does not work Xerces Fobe

You have a job getting boys interested nowadays! You will need your own bathroom as well. Don't forget the earplugs and the inside bolt.

I have been working on the layout weekend in order to make things run better this and took some photos, most of which I was unhappy with! I did however stage a reconstruction of a scene from the Bakerloo Line DVD I have. The scene on the video shows the Croxley Green to Watford Class 501 passing the Cardiff Road power station and the Croxley Green depot and a 1938 stock coming out of the depot to following on after the Class 501` to Watford junction. My photo is slightly different with a 1938 tube coming from Watford to the depot passing the Class 501 on the branch shuttle. Xerces Fobe
