I am sure the trains side is the same as the stations AFAIK [but will be corrected!] and we can do 8 days consecutively without a rest day.

As far as I can ascertain, there was a problem with one of the DLR escalators at Bank which, with four DLR escalators already out for replacement, caused passenger flow problems. DLR trains reversed W to E at Shadwell from about 07.45 to 08.10 (times approx). Indeed, a newspaper, no doubt one of the freebie ones, was wedged under the comb of No 10.

There are two tickets available, a £20 one which lets you travel on all trains bar the first one, if you want to travel on the first one as well, then the price is £25.

The document just states that there is a 60mm missing chunk from the crossing nose on 13 points. I am not technical, so dont ask me to explain any of that!

Bakerloo strike is the ongoing dispute over a fellow colleague who was assaulted, he defended himself and then got into a heap of trouble. District trouble is due to a bullying manager who thinks they can sack people. On the Bakerloo, the RMT are hoping as many drivers as possible will down tools in support of their station colleague. There is a thread about this in the Bakerloo section, titled "Local strike". Background to District strike. www.rmtplatform.org.uk/taxonomy/term/5

Its a points problem, No 13 at Victoria is faulty. So there is a TSR of 10 Mph going over them, hence the delays.

Yup, can't wait for MarshLink to come out... Would you recommend the Belfast - Derry DVD when it comes out? Well I havent seen it, and know nothing of the line, so have no opinion. There is a bonus, a trip on the Portrush branch with a Thumper, not the 205/207s! ;D

Well Belfast-Derry should be out next week. The Thumper trip has been filmed. Eurostar is delayed due to industial action in Belgium, and C2C are getting funny about Shoeburyness-Fenchurch St.

Well, this train, T303 was the only one to have had problems in the morning peak that day. At least according to the line's operating management.

In the latest issue of Modern Railways Magazine, FCC have confirmed they will be taking seven of the ex LO 313s [Once the 378s are in service] to combat overcrowding on the inner surburban GN routes.

Right, what happened on the day in question was that this train had door problems at West Ham, this persisted until NOG, and in conjunction with CCTV failure, the train was detrained at Canary Wharf. Tripping various MCBs had no effect.
Train was delayed 7 minutes from Sratford to Canary Wharf

This info is taken from JE Connor's excellent book "GWR disused stations in Greater London"
Indeed, it closed 16th March 1992. In 1904, rail motor surburban services terminated there to allow capacity at Paddington for the long distance services. A refreshment room was built many years after opening, due to increasing popularity. Due to the interchange with the H&C, many trains stopped there. Two island platforms were provided at its peak, with the afforementioned terminators terminating in platform 6, and then proceeded via a crossover.
I strongly suggest you get the book, its an excellent read.
Forgot to say, that by the end, it was only the half hourly Greenford trains that served the station. Thinking about it, why it was very little used at the end, superior frequency on the H&C, direct to the City, faster approach into Paddington compared to the DMU journey. At the time it was built, it was obviously advantageous to have the link with the H&C.....and daresay steal some of the custom.

Westbourne Park closed in 1992, like you say hardly anyone used it. Its nail in the coffin was the Heathrow Express, which necessitated the track layout to be remodellled in that area, as well as to allow for the electrification works too.
