Ah yes Innocentabroad, I now remember that he also said the District Line is coloured green. What a perceptive driver!

I have just been on the V125 forum. Due to the Chunnel fire, and the Eurostar production being delayed, V125 are going to look at filming the Victoria line. Due to it being underground, apart from NPK depot, it can be filmed in Winter. Looks like an updated Central wont be out till the end of next year at the earliest.

Oh good grief. Is one faulty train (not exactly unusual) worth its own thread? Someone repeatedly thinks so.

Sounds like he loves the sound of his own voice.
I had one on the Picc a couple of years back, started getting on my nerves after a few stops.
A comment here and there, is fine.
They are drivers, not tour guides.

The ODA surely dont have carte blanche though as regards to funding? The traffic disruption on Camden's roads seems to be a big point.

I have seen Belfast-Derry, it is recommendable. Only annoying thing is that once out of Belfast there are foot/level crossings every 500m or thereabouts, so the constant tooting of the horn gets a bit much.
Well, due to the Chunnel fire, Eurostar is delayed until next summer.
The Marshlink DVD [Brighton-Ashford] will be released in November. It will contain two bonuses, a DEV of the Seaford branch, and a speeded up version of London-Brighton.

Just an update.....for the last few weeks, they have had the new style DMIs [Capable of showing the next four trains].
They also now have the super duper PA system. Unsurprisingly, due to several houses being near the track/platforms, this has peeved a few people off, they say they cant sit in their garden or leave the windows at the back of their house open. It has attracted the attention of the local rag [Hendon and Finchley Times]. TFL gave a standard reply, namely the PA's were helpful and were staying, but did stress they would investigate this particular location.
Said rag interviewed a blind Woman, who thought the pa's were helpful, but very loud, maybe they could turn them off and have a member of staff to consult about destinations she said. Problem is. these are one man stations.

Yeah, defo Gospel Oak. Or "Gospal Oak" as the various road signs directing rail replacement buses spell it... it grates every time I see one! ;D

Why dont you bring a deckchair and some sarnies, sit on the platform all day, notice and record observations, and then submit a full report including recommendations and conclusions to the DLR management. I am sure they would find it interesting.

They are supposed to make an announcement after 30 seconds of delay....ie sitting in a tunnel or a platform. It used to be 2 minutes, which is better IMHO.

At weekends they position staff on the platforms/bottom of escalators telling people to have their passes/tickets ready. The booking hall is tiny relative to to the flows going through it, and it just needs a few slow ones to screw it up.
There is a yellow line between the gatelines and the escalators, once the yellow line is breached by exiting passengers, the gates are plunged open via the emergency button. I have worked at Camden, only ever seen it used a couple of times...the staff do a good job of managing the flows under trying circumstances...there are lots of undesirables hanging about/exiting/entering.

All of their new films are being filmed in High defintion [Belfast-Derry was the first] but they are being released in standard defintion [Archiving for the future]. V125 feel there isnt much of a market out their yet for High defintion railway DVDs [Eurostar being the exception]

Latest!
Belfast-Derry will be available from 9th September [direct from V125] a couple of days later it will be available from usual places, Ian Allan, Motor Books etc.
The trip from Brighton-Ashford has been filmed, related filming is being carried out.
Eurostar is now being filmed, and when released will be in DVD and Blu ray formats. Blu ray is high definition.
