The "incident" refers to [If you read the link! ;D] that a member of staff on a picket line was punched and was left with a bloody nose and a split lip, whilst another was attacked with a traffic cone.

Well it turns out that the station was staffed during the strike....by managers, admin staff gaining temporary licences.....and revenue staff. If there is one grade that gets assaulted, its revenue, nice to see them supporting their colleagues.

This is quite shocking I am surprised I haven't heard about it. Looking at LUL's live update page on the website, it looks like the stations are all open. It would be a great shame if other SA's SS's from around the combine have agreed to staff the stations. I think this issue is so important for us frontline staff. As to the stations been kept open, its typical of management to flout safety rules and have stations open with less than the minimum staffing levels. One on my group had a station open in the peak, and was "running" it himself.

Wasnt it Brent Cross, or Brent as it was then, that had the loop on the Southbound?

Fellow staff [From the Bakerloo Charing X group] are currently on a 24 hour strike [1900-1859] in support of a colleague who was sacked after defending himself from a violent drunk. I looked at the Bakerloo service Manager page earlier on the LU Intranet, which stated that no problems were caused by the strike, and that the stations are adequately staffed. As to whether early turn staff on monday will turn up is unknown. This sacking is interesting, as the Police did not try and push any charges on the staff member, who is losing his career for sticking up for himself. Incidentally, the drunk was violent and abusive at the same station earlier in the day. Let us hope he is reinstated. Just to add Charing X group is Charing X, Lambeth North and Elephant and Castle. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7527779.stm

A P-CRID is a permanent CRID [Current Rail Indicator device] which has "On" or "Off" displayed, in relation to the activation of traction current. They are beside the track at certain stations. Wasn't it Tubelines who introduced them?
Their installation negates the need for protection masters to go onto the track in engineering hours to ascertain if TC has been discharged, as has traditionally been the way, with the orange handheld one.
As to the locations of P CRID's on the JLE. I have no idea.....presumably at the start/end of a traction current section.

Camden....was fixed soon after the peak, so the escalators were put back into the normal configuration.
Some escalators can only run in one direction, to reverse them would cause serious damage. One was reversed years ago, after running 20 years in one direction, it cost a fortune to repair it.

The escalator normally running up [No 2] had three broken teeth on the top comb, so it was reversed [and therefore kept in service]
Escalator No 1 was therefore put in the up position.

Re engineering work, is it a good idea splitting the Goblin into two replacement bus routes? Forcing people to change at Blackhorse Road, as well as traffic congestion round there wont be popular.

~~~ while leaving it open, it may need some clues. For now, I'll just say that this is a Bakerloo station. Well it just goes to show that you have to read the WHOLE thread.
Apparently there is a ghost on the NR platforms there! Apparently its the spirit of someone killed in a railway accident many years ago. That maybe so, but sadly it isn't the answer we are looking for.... No, I wasnt suggesting an answer, I was just mentioning the ghost! ;D
Thanks Tubeboy. Like ducatisti I guess that the 45 will be in the open air. What is the maximum in the tunnels? Open air is 40/45 mph. Bank branch is 35mph, Charing X is 30mph. South of Kennington, I believe its 35mph. There are various restrictions, eg 15mph approaching Camden platform 3 from the South, 20mph approaching Finchley Central from the South. There used to be a 15mph coming into Old St on the South, but thats gone. I believe there is a 15 or 20mph just before Elephant on the South. I think the Mill Hill East branch is cleared for 30mph [At least departing FC] running only? Someone correct me if I am wrong please.
So......North Wembley?
Eh? Surely the reason the 319s have a cab front door, unlike the near-identical 321s, is to allow people to escape in the single-bore Thameslink tunnels...? You cant pass from one 319 to another via the cabs, there is no gangway.
1928 was the first time the ghost of William Terriss was seen? I can't say I know whether or not this is true, but it certainly isn't the answer we are looking for. 1928 was the first time SE13 went there......as a 25 year old man? ;D
