EDIT: I've now managed to find somewhere that lists the planned closures over the BH weekend - it's surprisingly hard to find information about past engineering works! The Circle and H&C were planned to be closed in their entirety, so what I've written above turns out not to be a satisfactory explanation. I'll leave it there as an discussion point nonetheless. The Circle Line was planned to be operating Hammersmith-Aldgate over the BH weekend, the shortage of Control room staff prevented this, therefore ‘suspended’ was shown

Rush hours only, I assume? Has TfL or LU said anything to the public (Twitter?) about this? Visiting their website just now (Saturday morning) it says the service is closed and will re-open on Monday morning. Was correctly showing “Good Service” during the operational hours yesterday afternoon/evening

What is the proper reason for all these weekend shutdowns of the District Line ? A few people say its to do with Cross Rail at Whitechapel 29-31 May track works at South Kensington, High Street Kensington and Wimbledon, rail grinding between Victoria and Tower Hill, drainage works at West Kensington and Crossrail works at Whitechapel 5-6 June track renewal work at Barking Sidings, Transplant Train Operator training between South Kensington and Whitechapel and Network Rail track renewal between Plaistow and East Ham 12-13 19-20 June, 3-4 July Crossrail work at Whitechapel, Network Rail engineering work between Plaistow and East Ham 26-27 June, 10 July Network Rail track renewals between Plaistow and East Ham and track works at Mile End 11 July track works Ealing Common depot 17-18 July 4LM Signalling system testing Whitechapel-Upminster (SMA06/07)

How much of SMA12 do you think may get done? Parsons Green yard area, or as far as the National Rail interface at Putney Bridge / East Putney? East Putney platforms.

What is the reason that district line trains de-train at Hammersmith during the closure when they can clearly run further on to West Kensington? Surely run in service to West Kensington and start the service west from there? Staff are available at Hammersmith to detrain the passengers, whereas very few or none are available at West Kensington. You can’t start a westbound service from the eastbound platform at West Kensington, the platform berth is too short.

Will these changes affect the early morning Picc reversers into and out of West Kensington? Those have not run for several years, (WTT27 28 October 1991) they had already stopped before the last nail in the coffin was the uplift of SSL voltage to 750v DC beyond Barons Court.

It take it the District Line trains detrained at Hammersmith eastbound and ran empty, did they reverse in West Kensington platform or did they go into Lillie Bridge depot ? at West Kensington EB using limit of shunt beyond the platform

With the Hammersmith plain lining, Hammersmith (Dist) and Barons Court CIS destinations are probably redundant. Hammersmith would still be used, as this Bank Holiday weekend, for trains into West Kensington/Lillie Bridge sidings

I don't have memory whether there are still crossovers at Putney Bridge, but I guess if any work happens beyond East Putney it would be a good terminus too utilising the points at Putney Bridge. There are no longer any reversing facilities at Putney Bridge or East Putney

From Sat 12 June at Barons Court 26A/B points will be plain-lined, thus preventing westbound District trains access to the fast (Picc) line and Barons Court siding. Signal WD43 Barons Court WB starter will have it's route indicators removed between then and September.
23A/B points at Hammersmith, EB fast to local (thus preventing EB District trains access back to the local) will be removed in September.

Waterloo & City reopens 14 June, passenger services from 21 June 5 minute service 06:15 - 09:00 and 15:30 - 19:00 Just 10 drivers, 4 ''running'' and a spare for each peak Can see the morning peak hours catching people out initially, given a lot of operators class morning peak as being until 10:00 (arrival at the London terminus) Last morning trains depart: Waterloo 10 02½ Bank 10 09

I think that NB to SB reversing (via main line shunt) is still permitted. A couple of years ago, they had contingency plans to do that when it looked like engineering works would overrun. In the event, they finished just in time. Still possible using signal BP4, just north of the station.

It seems that interchange stations are open, except Embankment, which must be closed as the site of the planned works for equipment entry and exit. So Northern and Bakerloo Line trains will not be stopping at Embankment, Correct.

The ultimate destination is always shown as a code, the station at, the route between stations is shown; however the actual platform isn’t. Examples: approaching Barking/Tower Hill would show “x x bay” or “x x sdg” if terminating approaching Earl’s Court wouldn’t show the actual platform approaching Upminster wouldn’t indicate the platform etc These are to be improved as more areas are added.

Do we know if the 9 cars have started to be introduced in the East this week as planned? I noticed the new signs at Liverpool Street today telling people to use the front 7 carriages for Marland, Forest Gate, Manor Park and Seven Kings which surprised me as I didn't think that Forest Gate or Manor Park Eastbound would be SDO. From my journey on Greater Anglia today, I was able to see the class 345 trains on TFL Rail. I only saw 7 car versions in service, although there were a few 9 car sets in Ilford depot and Gidea Park sidings. Reported elsewhere 9-car operation will start tomorrow 26 May, with only one or possibly two trains.

Would a shuttle service be possible between Edgware Road and High St Kensington via Notting Hill Gate? Or is it that trains will still be able to run through Earls Court (Wimbledon / Richmond / Ealing Broadway / Olympia to Edgware Road)? As the closure is Earl's Court-Aldgate East there is no restriction from Earl's Court to Edgware Road. Most likely a 5-min District service from Edgware Road. I see on TfL website they got engineering works Earls Court to Aldgate East from Wednesday 4 August to Thursday 12 August. Anyone know what’s planned. (Westminster crossover by any chance) content.tfl.gov.uk/planned-track-closures.pdfThe link gives a reply of page not found 404 .It was working on May 22 . someone at TfL added two "." to the link! content.tfl.gov.uk/planned-track-closures..pdf

BBC's transport correspondent Tom Edwards on Twitter saying that the Waterloo and City will reopen 21 June, I don't book on until 16:45 so I will check then Addendum: There was nothing when I went into work but its been confirmed by various sources. WTT7 had 26 duties Monday-Friday, 21 running turns and five spares but we are told that the peak service will only need 14 duties so there's going to be a lot of unhappy Drainites. Leytonstone could look like "The Hunger Games". W&C trains start running empty on 14 June 2021 with TTN139/21, passenger services resume on 21 June

Will trains run empty between Aldgate East and Earls Court as the crossover at Aldgate East was removed Because of the engineering work(*) no passenger trains can run via Victoria. There will be a special combined District/H&C service from Upminster-Hammersmith via King’s Cross Aldgate East is quoted, being the nearest station that trains will run. [*= the Forum staff are rather mystified by the real reason for a 9-day closure, quoted as a combination of “bullhead track replacement and heavy maintenance Embankment crossing”]

I see on TfL website they got engineering works Earls Court to Aldgate East from Wednesday 4 August to Thursday 12 August. A modified service will also operate Friday 13 August to reallocate rolling stock after the blockade and be ready for CBTC SMA 6/7 testing 14-15 August.
