Auxy actually posted, then deleted the post, and reposted later, possibly edited.
He does seem to share the same affection of tv as I do - NONE! If it were up to me, there wouldn't even be a tv here.
Anyhow, back on topic....

Brockley... Possibly N/B platform? Spot on! Brockley - mirror on northbound platform The tenuous link is that I was born just off Chudleigh Road in Brockley (SE4) Some people know it, others don't, but it's been mentioned on here before now!

Sensationalist rubbish on a slow news day. It doesn't have to be a slow news day for a certain well known newspaper as we've all noticed on here before.

Seen the film crew at Victoria in the height of the AM peak, and Oxford Circus in the PM too. They were on the last 67 stock journey too.. new TV something about the Tube apparently. A quite regular film crew involves a member of this very forum! The results of the last 67 are floating around on YouTube somewhere as filmed by himself and team. EDITHere it is and the eagle eyed among you will see a few other members from here too.

Bus prefixes usually stand for something, in the above cases, a destination. N = night, X = Express and so on.
Bus suffixes usually relate to deviations of the original route, A, B, C and so on (X being the direct route without calling at towns/estates/whatever.)
On that basis, the combinations are numerous, and the options endless, so it's infinitely possible that really local services use letter prefixes on any number of routes, quite possibly a whole number that we didn't know about!

Yes, it was restricted to peak hours IIRC, and then it sort of vanished off the maps. 82 would fit, I moved here in 83. From memory, they finished around the same time that Croxley Depot shut, as the four peak hour trains stabled there. Of course! That never crossed my mind. Somewhere out there, there's a site that lists and displays maps from the past - I'll try and dig that out, it ought to show the peak services from the 70's, and presumably the demise of the section. BINGO!! This is the map from 74 showing peak services. Then this from 86 showing peak only to H&W, and interestingly peak hours on the Piccadilly to Uxbridge which I don't ever remember - Presumably Rayners to Uxbridge Met had a better service than today. In fact this site is excellent, it goes right back to 1889, and although there are some gaps, it's a very good history. I've now bookmarked it for future reference.
