Think in terms of your local council after the winter, the roads were an utter mess, but it's cheaper for them to throw a load of loose chippings down than properly repair the road. At the minute, it's going to be cheaper for LU to paper over the cracks than refleet the Central, especially when the Piccadilly and Bakerloo have far older trains with less issues.

Randomly found this, probably been posted before, but as I'm whipping up trade in this area, this is for your viewing pleasure.
Some great takes of older stock including Standard, 38ts, 59ts and the glorious 73's...

I went trainspotting at West Ruslip the other day ( l;imit of OAP all zones) I noticed comming back passing the central line stock how tatty they on the outside paint seems to be peeling bearing in mind they are not that old Funny, but I always think of the 92's as new stock - Perhaps it's an age thing on my part, but those trains are shoving 20 years old! O/T, but I also think of the 73's on the Picc as new-ish stock, and they are only 7 years younger than me!

They all share an initial letter with the line that serves it (well Hammersmith is served by others too)... Spot on! Moor Park - Met. Hammersmith - H&C. Chigwell - Central. Dagenham East - District.

The date of the map won't matter unless it's about 100 odd years old!

Nope - Please look at the locations, then your maps... The answer should stand out.

The thought of WB (and EB) locals fills me with glee, there's so many stations I've never stopped at on the Picc, just watching and waving past the slow Districts at the various places down that stretch.
Does beg the question though, drivers won't be trained on the locals will they? Aside from emergency timetables that is... My time as a bus driver always had various oddments when training on a new route, and stops always come up a lot faster than you appreciate, despite you knowing where they are. Stop a dozen times, and you know where to brake, do it first time, and you're about to have a slight of egg on your face.

I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about the Bakerloo going back to Watford. Firstly because the service from Queen's Park - Elephant & Castle would suffer. Secondly because, assuming it ever gets done, the Met line extension will take care of it. Possibly, however, there are still some 67ts kicking around, with a tweak here and there, they could supply the extra stock needed, and Elephant - QP wouldn't suffer. Can't see it happening though.

That's not the link we are looking for.
However another look at the stations involved might throw something up (?)
A = Moor Park (Stairs to Sandy Lodge entrance) B = Hammersmith H&C - Hammersmith Broadway exit C = Chigwell D = Dagenham East
Now have a peek at your tube maps...

All this bus talk is fun! Wish I could do this like this forum One of Dave's wishes is that we didn't ever have a bus section as the forum specialises with LU, however, there are plenty of bus drivers, enthusiasts and those with a PCV licence to answer any questions that pop up.

Thanks for that, yes, he's quite a decent presenter! Just a pity that your average punter doesn't see the flip side of the coin - The amount of times I defend engineering/upgrades/whatever to 150 paragraph moans about the tube on another place or two. I presume that to satisfy the individual needs of every punter, there ought to be a letter written in advance to see if the proposals meet with the approval of every user Cynic? Me? Never!
