Two unusual things spotted on my way home today:
At Bank W&C, a film crew with LU hi-vis fighting their way through the throng on the platform at around 6pm; Anyone know what they were doing down there? Seems a daft time to try and do any kind of filming.
At Waterloo W&C, Revenue Inspectors on the exits from the platform, (first time I've seen this in 6 years of travelling every day, any connection with the filming?) They didn't seem to be very doing much inspecting, instead letting the large crowd pass through (presumably as any attempt to check everyone would've led to major congestion, missed main line trains and frayed tempers). They had however picked up at least one person who was travelling on a child ticket.
Probably didn't help their cause that the W&C train-op announced at Bank that they were doing inspections at Waterloo, so anyone dodgers wishing to escape could've bolted back down the tunnel.

Seen the film crew at Victoria in the height of the AM peak, and Oxford Circus in the PM too.
They were on the last 67 stock journey too.. new TV something about the Tube apparently.

Perhaps its for the new series of "Chuggington", > apparantly one of the Network Rail internal promotion exams will be based on it.

This is most likely people working for the BBC, they are making a new documentary with the working title 'The Tube'. Obviously liable to change for the actual series. This has no connection to the previous ITV one. Infact me and some friends were interviewed on the last day of the 67ts by this film crew and its most likely to be included

I havent seen an RCI in years on LUL actively checking tickets! Thought they were getting rid of the grade. I enjoyed the ITV version, got it on DVD. Glad its being brought back (albiet maybe in a slightly different format)

A quite regular film crew involves a member of this very forum! The results of the last 67 are floating around on YouTube somewhere as filmed by himself and team. EDITHere it is and the eagle eyed among you will see a few other members from here too.

Glad its being brought back (albiet maybe in a slightly different format) The advent of Oystercards have changed the way that revenue check tickets. If you have a non concessionary Oyster there is a good chance you won't be actively checked. But that doesn't mean that revenue aren't there.

I (and a few colleagues) were filmed in the control room during the Notting Hill Carnival. They were also in our room prior to that, and as I write they are back there again ;D As far as the film crew could tell, it would most likely be 6 1-hour episodes on BBC2, broadcast February/March next year.

They've been 'shadowing' Howard Collins at lot recently. I think he's regarded as more 'tele-genic' than certain other senior LU managers!

Speaking of Underground Programmes I also remember a London Underground Quiz Show when I was a child, I can't remember what is was called but I think it was also called 'The Tube' or something along those lines. MIND THE GAP! ;D. I don't remember it being on long though

Don't know if it's part of the "contemporary collecting" that some of the LTM Friends and Volunteers are about to get involved with, in connection with Underground 150 or not.

Thanks for that, yes, he's quite a decent presenter! Just a pity that your average punter doesn't see the flip side of the coin - The amount of times I defend engineering/upgrades/whatever to 150 paragraph moans about the tube on another place or two. I presume that to satisfy the individual needs of every punter, there ought to be a letter written in advance to see if the proposals meet with the approval of every user Cynic? Me? Never!
