Would this not be in breach of sexual equality laws?

The last departure was the Glasgow service for Edinburgh at 23.30 on Monday 31st March 1997.
However the last arrival was the London Euston - Fort William portion of the Highland Train (1S25/1Y11 after the train split into separate parts at Edinburgh) and did not reach Fort William until 1030 April 1st - it continued to be announced as a BR train until journey's end.
The last freight service operated by BR was the 2315 service from Dollands Moor to Wembley on 21 November 1997 and was hauled by 92003 "Beethoven" - this was also the last ever BR service ever after 49 years, 10 months, 20 days.
It should be noted for the record, however, that the first actual service in private operation was the 0150 Fishguard - Paddington on 4th February 1996 which was operated as far as Cardiff by an Rail Replacement Service... Somethings never changed...!

Great pictures...
I like Holland Park and Stepney Green - both have a "lived in" feel

That picture has been used for stories such as the Olympic Games - in this instance, they've cropped it on the right to remove some scratches and graffiti (which you can just see a bit of). Not sure on the station, but the train appears to be a Jubilee Line train based on a google search of the image
If there is asbestos, LU have to remove it - I have heard there is still quite a bit of it in tunnels, but you can either remove it in the hours you have available when the service is shut down or do it in stages which would involve closing sections of the line off.
I'm sure somebody will describe it in a more technical manner

Welcome to the UK, richo89...
If you want something strange on the Underground, why not try the evening Olympia services out and back from High Street Kensington? Stay on the same train for a return from Olympia and you'll see people getting on thinking its going one place, hear the announcements saying otherwise and then a mad scramble of them getting off again before the train goes - always good for laughs

Should be alright - but contact control as hobbayne says.
As an aside, I just clicked this thread and my own lamp failed... spooky

Last time I was on 5110 everything was still there. I do hope 5234 and 5110 are ok. 5234 is especially important historically as it was the first unit in service. Ah, so in theory there is nothing to prevent it being placed into revenue service? How interesting

What is the inside like on this train? Has it had internal modifications or does it still have the seats in place as if it had only just come out of service?

Not a problem... Allowing for a generous amount of time when considering your mobility, your best best is to get the service from T4 at 16:57, gets to Hammersmith 17:33, change to a District Line service which leaves at 17:34 - arrival at Embankment scheduled for 17:58 I dunno how others feel, I think I'd probably change at Hammersmith for the District to Embankment. Very easy cross-platform interchange, should do nicely. Looks like we had the same thought, tut

I was under the impression that it was maintained by the CHT themselves, and not by LU in actual truth.
May I ask if this is a common occurrence on the network?

Shoreditch (pre-closure) or Farringdon
Most likely wrong, but if I answer Shoreditch for each and every question then the statistics suggest I should get it right eventually.

That might well be true, but he also got back C.O.B, chased after a lady's attackers, made a great After Olympics speech and is very attractive
I don't know how much of this is true, but was not Boris overruled on a number of tube improvements and somewhat bullied into cancelling projects?

I've already seen that, its sister picture and the others by making a flickr and google search...
Nobody seems to have any pictures of the one at Bank, mind you

I checked the Forum Rules and cleared this with a Mod, so I think its okay to ask...
Does anybody have pictures of the reversing sidings at both Heathrow Terminal 5 and Bank on the DLR? After being to both locations, I'm somewhat fascinated with what they look like and a search of flickr and google comes up with next to nothing - so I figured somebody here must have a few pictures. (note: I have already seen londonstuff's snaps)
Thanks in advance

I just thought... What is the height of D Stock compared to standard platform height on NR - would there have to be modification work carried out to the stations along the route?

I am not familiar with the layout of Leytonstone Station, not am I knowledgeable with procedures, but did the station staff not think to shut the gates to the station and then slowly let people out of the station? Looking at some of the pictures posted around, it seemed very packed on the platforms so this puzzled me somewhat.
I also noted it was the normal police and not the BTP that seemed to be called - was it a busy day for the BTP and they needed the help of the normal police or is this normal?

There might be something to this story as I was taking a train from Hull - York two days ago and struck up a chat with a driver on the cushions. Without prompting, he commented about getting "Those things from London" soonish. When I asked if this meant cascaded stock such as 319s, he replied "No, those tube things".
Perhaps one is coming up here for trials after modification work? I just thought it was worth mentioning in this thread
