The best place to be is Earls Court - every District line train will pass through there on each journey it makes

Grab those photos while you can...
Looks like they might be all gone before March 08, the original target completion schedule!

Is it the memberships' collective aim to get this thread to 75 pages by the time the last of the 75 trains is refurbished?

I was out to film the 38ts tour and saw 7040+7063 and 7009 at Ealing Common depot and also snapped double ender 7530-7531 at Embankment! Oh and saw starlight express too! There were a few 'originals' running the Ealing-Tower Hill service today!

Out and about on the system on Thursday and Friday, and bumped into 3 non refurb trains! On Thursday, saw them on trains 61 and 63 (Ealing - Tower Hill service) and saw one at West Brompton on Fri - train 60 (Wimbledon - Upminster service). Didn't note down the unit numbers.

It's a bit hard to say tbh!
There's special working this weekend with no service between Embankment and Whitechapel, so not every train will be in use; but I can assure you that it's entirely pot luck which ones they do and don't use!
I'm afraid it will just be a case of taking your chances!

Only 5 non refurbs left and no service in the central section will mean only 2 or 3 non's on each end of the line.

To keep you updated with the numbers:
7063 departed today.
train66 7094+7077 in service (trailer of 17077 previously 17035) train67 7044+7017 in service train68 7080+7011 in service / Derby train69 7042+7009 Derby train70 7046+7059 Derby train71 7060+7063 in service / Derby
train75 7008+ . . . Derby
(7008 shown as part of train75, as it should be the last one back)
Which leaves just 4 trains to be refurbished. The following units survive: west: 7040, 7060, 7128. east: 7097, 7103, 7115. d/e.: 7530, 7534.

7040 was sitting by it's self uncoupled in Ealing Common Depot (it had been coupled to 7063), so I am unsure if one more unit is about making up the other part of the fourth train, or if only three were in service. (I only saw 3) I had 7534 - 7115 for a spell

The trains are currently formed: 7060+7103 7128+7097 (out today) 7534+7115 (out today) with 7040 at ECom and 7530 at Upm- to potentially make the fourth train.
7060 is scheduled to go away next but I'm guessing this might be swapped with 7040?

Any reason for the single units to have ended up at different depots? And would 7060 be able to make it to Ealing Common by iself given it's a double ended unit?

Hmmm, I'm puzzled as to how two single units have ended up at different depots ! At some point a 3 car unit must have run alone ! Though quite why is odd ?! 7530 which is the double ender at Upminster could certainly make it to Ealing Common to couple up to the other part. In the mean time having just 3 about means they are even thinner on the ground !

Do two double enders ever run on the District Line? I've never seen it! It happens sometimes on the Met and Vic lines.

A reform of units took place last night, 7530 must have been around ECom after all!
Formations today: 7040+7097 7530+7103 7534+7115 leaving 7060 & 7128 spare (7060 expected to go very soon)
7011 returned from refurb this morning.

The train is a bit longer and results in a net loss of seats and space, unlike a 1967 or A stock. I have put some pictures here before - but Colin is our resident expert at locating old threads !
