Quite how trailer 6110 will be rebuilt (if at all) is a matter for conjecture but I certainly feel that battery is the way forward although if a system as clever as Viva Rail’s plug and play might be handy. I guess this is all a long way off.

I guess this is all a long way off. The only problem is the plant required to charge the batteries. I don't know the ins and outs of vivarails solution, but rapid charging requires a lot of power delivered quickly.

I wonder to what extent a loss is incurred because of capacity limitations? Some costs in organising will presumably be fixed contingent on the thing happening, whereas others might be variable depending on the length of time the train is running. Assuming both fully sold out, would a train twice as long doing half the number of trips be able to reduce losses per passenger compared to one of half length doing twice the amount of journeys?
Of course, the monetised value of the PR created is a very good question, and one wonders whether it can be accurately estimated at all.

In the last few years many organisations and companies seem to have adopted "heritage" as a matter of pride, which is undoubtedly a good thing. There will be a bit of revenue from people going to see a special working travelling I suppose?

The final details email from the museum refers to a possible cancellation of the 1938ts run at short notice due to industrial action at LU depots. How likely is this to occur, as I was very much looking forward to my trip?

How likely is this to occur, as I was very much looking forward to my trip? As I understand it talks at conciliation service ACAS are due to be held on Friday. The out come of this will likely dictate if events on Sunday will take place or not.

Fleet are potentially going on industrial action from Friday so if they do then the train wouldn’t get a prep so would be not be available to run as the strike is due to end on Sunday evening

The industrial action has been called off Great news! Thanks for letting us know! I would have been rather miffed at missing my first LU heritage run For anyone interested, the 1938ts tour has sold out.

A number of posts have been split into two new threads that are of more relevance. Posts regarding the move of Sarah Siddons and the LT Inspection Saloon from Eastleigh to Ruislip can be found here, and posts regarding whether or not 'all' heritage railways are preserved in BR-era liveries can be found here. Members are reminded to start a new thread if they want to discuss a new element, and also that this topic is primarily intended to notify of upcoming Heritage running on LUL; in-depth discussion of specific runs is, again, best in a new thread. Thanks!

Here's Carl Watson's video of Sarah Siddons on test at Eastleigh - without a 4th rail.

Various posts specifically relating to this weekend's Steam on the District runs have now been moved to a new thread: districtdavesforum.co.uk/thread/30723/steam-on-district-22-june. Once again, just a reminder that this is for more general heritage information (such as the video of Sarah on test at Eastleigh above) and notification of new heritage trips; please start a new thread for specific discussion around an event. Thanks.

Any idea why the 4TC, LMS Saloon and Sarah have trundled down to Eastleigh today behind a GBRf 66? To complete the work on Sarah’s wheels that was halted last year to allow operation on the RailTour in London.

Good point about the month! I've edited the post to clarify. Perhaps it would be worth me creating a separate thread about heritage vehicles off LU metals? Quite possibly. As a reminder, the general rule is that this thread can be used to notify and discuss forthcoming heritage operations or events, or the heritage fleet/operations in general, but specific matters should have a new thread for ease and clarity. There is plenty of capacity available to the forum for new threads.
Indeed, I've done a little bit of tidying up and all the posts relating to the latest soiree to Swanage can be found at districtdavesforum.co.uk/thread/31356/.

38TS in April now postponed.
A private 38TS event this weekend has, I believe, also been postponed.
At this stage the 4TC trip to Swanage is still going ahead.

Swanage have now postponed their diesel gala, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the 4TC trip follows Edit: just checked and the 4TC trip has also been postponed
