Getting back to the tour, however mundane that might seem, I noticed when photographing the last three trains in Ealing Common (from a passing train, after it was all over that evening) that 7526 also had a green headboard fitted. Presumably that indicates that it was in reserve for the tour if something went wrong with 7007/32. Does anyone have the background on this? Indeed, 7526+7037 was made ready as a spare, vinyls attached to both cab ends, incase a problem arose on 7032+7007 during the morning preparation, this wasn't however needed.

Seems the tour is not quite over ! Did you notice which car that is, I can't read the number on the photographs?

It can only be one of two cars, 7007 and 7037, as they are the only ones to have sported the "Eastbound" vinyls. The withdrawals list says that unit 7037/17037/8037 (which was the spare for both the last day and the tour) was dispatched to Long Marston on Thursday.

I had a go at checking this with enlarging and a magnifier, and I believe this to be 7037.
