That is a pity to hear. I am surprised the individuals carrying out the behaviour were even aware it was a special service, save the posters; you'd have thought they'd have been oblivious or have little care for such an event, rather than treating it as an excuse to behave badly. In contrast, the disruptive people were people who would describe themselves as enthusiasts who were travelling because it was the last service. Unfortunately for the rest of us who use that description, their enthusiasm manifested itself as immaturity rather than respect. Yes the 'fanboy' element. Its bizarre how some of the names pursue whatever form of quasi-official relationships with various transport groups, yet act so poorly in their spare time. I remember the trouble at Harrow with the A stock at the end, and some stern words via the tannoy(?). Though damage is perhaps too strong a word to use, the behaviour was obnoxious, and god knows what any normal member of the travelling public thought was going on. The more you get people fragrantly ignoring the rules, the more strictly they are enforced. Which is also a downside for more sensible enthusiasts, who perhaps might be appreciative of a slight bending of them in certain circumstances. With luck, and the right number of staff onboard, they'll be able to minimise or eliminate any trouble this time around.

Must admit I hadn't considered that routing though there is the speed restriction under each bridge for "surface stock" issue to be considered. Whilst I haven't heard what the full official plan is, the rumour mill seems to be suggesting it'll stay strictly within the confines of its current operating area with the addition of a Northfields & back. It would be tremendous if Edgware Road were reached, given it wouldn't pick up at intermediate stations, and the signalling berths are now long enough because of the S7s

D stocks were/are (Delete as required) prohibited going up VIA edgware road due to clearance issues with platforms as the D stock has a much longer turning base than a C and S stock as the cars are much longer and there was clearance problems.

It will be a terrible pity if we see any of the problems that we saw with the last service day of the A Stock.
I am aware that the LTM and TfL staff are doing a massive favour for the enthusiasts and I understand that a lot of preparation will be put into the project.
Following that Facebook post, we now already know what the publicity for tour is going to look like, and someone must have spent a long time on that.

It's very frequently revealed that May 7th is the date for the D Stock Rail tour. Will tickets still be available for the public seeing as demand will likely be very high.

Yes. Final details are still being assembled, but details should be on the LTM website in the near future.

Glad to see 7007 back in service despite that incident. EDIT: I hope that will be the last train, and I already have a idea for it … 7007 is the one I'd like to be last in service too. Does your idea involve five rings, Antje?... (Cross-posted for relevance) If anyone remembers my post at www.districtdavesforum.co.uk/post/431336/thread I have actually been working on a headboard in hope that it will actually be used: not going into the details now but I haven't heard much from Transport for London or London Transport Museum on bringing it to life since pitching my idea, and I feel so lonely (Don't worry, not in mental health crisis now). If anyone behind the final runs sees this, please PM me for the design.

So what is the full route? (I may be able to get more than one spectator shot). If there are changes to the regular timetable to make way for T755 please PM me the relevant notices so I can cross out the trains that would otherwise take thinking that it wasn't cancelled.
While I can afford it, I will have to pass for disability reasons.

Presumably our friends on this site who are "in the know" will be able to give us photographers the route and timings in due course; as well as the train no. of the last "all day" working on 21st April - sounds as though LU plan to only have the one train in service that day. Admin team, am I correct?

"It will also visit Northfields on the Piccadilly line." Does it mean an engineering possession will be taken on the Piccadilly for this to occur? (It has four tracks in that area, so one pair can be on a Possession) I Never knew the larger subsurface stock could fit down the Piccadilly line sections, due to structure gauging and Bridge Heights etc?

I shouldn't have thought so. Don't forget the section was built by the Metropolitan District Railway and jointly operated by the District and Piccadilly for some years after the Piccadilly was first extended onto the branch. The D stock and the S stock are certainly cleared as far as Northfields. I believe the Ds used to be cleared to Hounslow Central but the Ss aren't and the Ds may no longer be cleared that far either.

The new Hounslow West platforms built for the Heathrow Extension prevent the surface stock operation beyond Hounslow Central.

If there are changes to the regular timetable to make way for T755 please PM me the relevant notices so I can cross out the trains that would otherwise take thinking that it wasn't cancelled. The tour train route seems to be a closely guarded mystery at the moment. All we know is what is in the public domain already - it starts at High Street Kensington, has a break at Northfields and finishes at Ealing Broadway. We also know that it will only run on current D stock areas of operation only (plus the Northfields & back). No trains will be cancelled in order to run the special tour (except maybe an Olympia trip IF if it runs there, owing to the branch being single track) - it'll simply fit in around the timetabled service. Presumably our friends on this site who are "in the know" will be able to give us photographers the route and timings in due course; as well as the train no. of the last "all day" working on 21st April - sounds as though LU plan to only have the one train in service that day. Admin team, am I correct? Yes, only one train is planned to run on the 21st April. The train number is fairly widely known but a number of caveats are attached such as the required D stock being at the right depot and fit for service. The biggest issue in stating the number is that the depot's have consistently ignored every planned nomination list published in relation to the switch from D stock to S stock so there is little confidence that the plan will bear out in reality. I'm also not overly keen on revealing the planned number too soon as I don't want to be responsible for idiots ruining the day, gaining this forum a poor reputation for leaking unofficial information, etc. Does it mean an engineering possession will be taken on the Piccadilly for this to occur? Nope, absolutely no need whatsoever for a possession. As stated by others, D stock can quite happily go to & from Northfields any time at all with no restrictions whatsoever.

If it was out of gauge for that part of the route, working the train through an "engineering possession" wouldn't change that anyway.

On the museum website it does say what train number will be running.

The museum website also says it will cover the entire District Line (except north of HSK, obviously), so given the known times and places of the start, finish, and break, and knowing where reversals are possible, there are probably not too many schedules that would fit. The main variables are the order the western branches are covered, and between which two western branches the long trip to Upminster and back is done.

On the museum website it does say what train number will be running. For the tour it does indeed, but not for the last passenger service train on April 21st

On the museum website it does say what train number will be running. That's the Farewell Special, I was talking about the last in normal service on the 21st.

It says at Northfields there will be a pop up shop what are they likely to be selling? Anything that we can't get in the regular LTM shop?
I still thinking about this but I have a feeling that its just too long for me. I think I might get a bit bored
