Both Tyseley's 0-6-0pt L94, and Dennis Howell's 9466 are both pledged for next years event on January 13.
Met 1 is still penciled in (pending its overhaul) for london events in may and september including the Neasden Depot open days. Its also due to visit epping ongar as well.
I understand the appeal total for Met 1 is very close to five figures.

Reading the LT Museum Friends newsletter:
"a series of steam runs on the evenings of 13 & 20 January between Olympia and Moorgate via Edgware Road. At the time of writing the ticket price has yet to be agreed but will be high for this once-in-50year event. Tickets will be available by ballot for donors of the MET loco No.1 fund; to our Friends and the general public. Those unlucky in the ballot will find a busy programme of steam-hauled trains in May, October and December, as well as guest appearances at Quainton Road".

LBC 97.3 reporting on the News today that a steam train had run on the UndergrounD today. They appear to referring to the Beattie Well tank at on the Circle Line in Feb this year. They did give some good publicity for the planned steam events on the UndergrounD next year though. "LBC First for News"?

I wonder if they will want any coach stewards many whitsun holiday weekends spent wiping tables and clearing rubbish on the 4TC stock. Then getting a ride on Sarah Siddons from Amersham to Neasden Depot.

Then getting a ride on Sarah Siddons from Amersham to Neasden Depot. Guess we'll just have to see how they steward these! Whether they use LU staff or museum volunteers, I would imagine they'll be a lengthy, but perhaps not necessarily orderly, queue!

Although describing Sarah as one of the first electric locos used on the tube is down to usual journalistic standards - more like one of the last!

Well of course if you want to be correct on the Underground (Sub surface lines). She would not fit on the tube!

Talking of the 150th anniversary, any idea what the "Train wraps of Metropolitan line trains" will entail? Will we be seeing s-stock dressed up like the 4TC?

£150 for a single trip? Are we sure that isn't a typo? Or is LUL on to a money spinning exercise? And people complained about the (reasonable) "cost"of the A Stock tour. Have to do a bit of thinking over the weekend.

£1 per year. I think that's excellent value!

It's a pity the old routeing via Latimer Road is no longer available for the trips to Addison Road.

Have to say I'm not going to be parting with that much hard earned cash for a 30 minute ride behind a steam loco, regardless of how rare an opportunity it is. Shame, as I was really looking forward to it, but for that money I could do two mainline steam tours or have a weekend away somewhere nice.
Only hope is that they might do some tickets at more sensible rates for those of us who've put many long hours in volunteering for the LT Museum.

What about all those staff who were made redundant when it closed for redevelopment.

Proceeds from the A Stock Tour were supposed to be going to the "Railway Children" charity. The web site doesn't mention where proceeds from the Steam on the Met tour might go. LT Museum itself given its current financial problem ??

While not being an apologist for the (high) price of a trip - I think it's fair to say these will highly unlikely ever be repeated again. Of course £'s per min it isn't a massive bargain but £'s per once in a lifetime experience?

LT Museum itself given its current financial problem ?? Presumably it helps match the HLF grant and make inroads into the rest - after all, for a handful of return trips they need to overhaul Met No1 and restore the Jubilee carriage, move the Chesham set up to London and back, refit vacuum brakes to Sarah Siddons, conduct trials and complete the mountain of paperwork all that requires for operating on the underground. Whilst some of those costs would fall on these trips, there is also a steam on the Met event in May to help with the expenses. The overhauled Met 1 will also be able recoup the costs over a longer period. Personally, the only trip which may tempt me at that price is the Olympia - Moorgate one at 18.23 on the 20th January. This must do something unusual to reverse (maybe the crossover at Gloucester Road) and looks like a cheap way for at least riding behind steam for a short section. I also see that there is a return run (steam one way / Sarah the other) in the evening of the 13th Jan, for the same price as the steam single on other trips.

If there were unclaimed seats then questions would have to be asked, but i think that's highly unlikely. Chris

Which misses my point that not all of the expenses you mention will need to be put against just the two days of specials on the city section of the Met. For example, I've seen the cost of Met 1 overhaul put at £250,000, but there is an appeal to help cover the costs and the loco won't just sit around doing nothing after the runs in January. After all, it isn't owned by the museum, but by the Buckingham Railway Centre. If all the trains sell out, there would be several £100,000 raised to set against the expenses but there are a lot of seats to sell and some for trips very late in the evening.

Yes, it will be dark (much of it is in tunnels!) so photo opportunity will be limited.
