Is it the Victoria Line that can run without drivers ? Why not just set the controls to automatic for the day and then without human intervention and error, the trains will run on time and the doors open on the right side. Simple ? It still requires the driver to push the start button and the doors.

Cool photos! I like the look of the refurbished Glen Waverleys! Yes it's Alstom's Refurbishment of the Comeng trains. EDI did the other half. Needless to say I do prefer the Alstom version.

Why not have the clear plastic ones we have on our platforms? We have ones for recycling an for rubbish. It isn't as bad as it sounds even though you can see the contents of what's inside. (Not that is stops people from leaving the train a mess).

Great minds think alike, eh? ;D I would quite like to see some stats on how we compare with other parts of the world. I know from looking at youtube that the USA have a problem with it, so does Australia I'm not entirely sure on what the figures are but if I remember correctly the ammount of near misses was rather high. But yes it is a problem. I often see pepole dart accross crossings. Or just sit over the crossing while waiting for the lights. Most crossing with boom barriers and/or lights are automatic. Although theres a few thousand crossings most are just "Passive crossings" With a sign and that's it.

I was looking around the house and found the Old man's slides from the 80's and early 90's. Mainly from around suburban melbourne and Jolimont(where he worked for many years) Victorian Railways in the 80's/90's Part 1B64-T374-T380-T354 operate #216 Marybourgh Grain. The 80's saw the introduction of the Comeng trains. here 325M sits outside Jolimont Workshops in the Original Vicrail "teacup" livery. By the 90's all Comeng trains had this livery. Y175 leads a small freight into Spencer Street. B68 and a N set in the VicRail "Teacup" Livery at Spencer Street Station. A rather new looking X47 on display at Spencer St. The Long end of X47. They were built in 3 different builders. This one was built by Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company. Harris 778M sits with its set in Jolimont yards. Inside an Harris in Original Condition. In the 80's a partial rebuild was on on a few of the Harris trains. However However, industrial and other problems with the with them only saw 16 refurbished. They mainly saw service on the Port Melbourne, St Kilda and Sandringham lines. Here 902M sits in the short lived Vicrail livery. It started life out as 713M before being refurbished. Now it lives on as V/Line car BCH134. Inside a refurbished Harris. The interor was made to look a lot like the Comeng. Inside an Hitachi car. Hitachi 235M in original condition S306 and a B class lead a passenger train. N456 and another N double head a passenger train into Spencer Street. Y119 and another Y arrive into Spencer Street with a 3 car h set. X54 and A7x lead a pass into SSS While A72 sits beside.

Or at least "Listen for announcements". I think the more helpful one is the one displaying where it will never reach. Although that could be on my experience around here(Which both train and PID display where the train has no hope in reaching. Be thankful you don't have TD numbers for every single train!)
