I had a dream where I was required to go over to London by Connex to drive the S stock and give my opinon of the train. The opinon was for the tender for the Comeng replacement. DD was picked to make sure I didn't destroy thier brand new train. ;D ;D

CCTV still wouldn't stop them. Our Siemens have walk through gangways and I've almost had my leg ran(and a kid at one stage) into by the muppets who decide to ride thier bikes down the 3 cars and the isle isn't exactly big.
One of the downsides of have walk though gangways is that you can't lock off a car.

How are platfroms numbered on LU? Is it that Platfrom 1 or Odd number platfroms are always the "Citybound" platfrom and evens are Outbound? Or do they keep odd numbers in one direction and even numbers the other? Or is there no real system at all?

I would suspect that because you were on Shopping Centre land you go under thier rules. It's the same deal at Melbourne Central(Although what line you go under is under a big debate between Connex and Centre Management) and at Box Hill.

City and West Footscray 1-7-08What would usually be a busy platfrom at 8:25 but due to the weather everyone is inside. A Sydenham/Watergardens bound EDI refurb Comeng powers out of West Footscray. SCT Locomotive G511 leads a small freight on the Standard guage to Tottenham. G511 is one of a few G classes given to them from PN. G511 is currently on loan to QRN G511 under the Geelong Road bridge. Passing the Up Platfrom. About to fly under the footbridge. Looking towards Tottenham Yard. At the rear of the train sits CFCLA's EL60 and VL3xx and SCT's G535 which is Named the Kevin Sheedy Express. CFCLA is a hire out operator lending locomotives and rollingstock out to freight operators. Near Tottenham Yard. For some reason the train stopped and went the opposite dirction. Here EL is now in the lead. Passing West Footscray. While in the background A Siemens Unit arrives. 761M comes to a Stop. On the Left Standard Guage and on the right Broad Guage. G511 again. 637M leads a Sydenham/Watergardens service into West Footscray. 544M trails. VL 06 on a Southern Cross bound service. And in the opposite direction VL 07. Nearing a Journeys end NR6-XRBxxx-NR5 Pass Tottenham yard on thier way to Dynon yard where the train terminates. This train would originated from Perth or Adelaide. NR6. Still Passing! B2.2090 and B2.2103. B2.2063 heads up Spencer Street. Looking towards the City on the St.Kilda Light Rail. C.3011 on the Port Melbourne light rail. Looking towards the docklands. North Melbourne sidings are in the foreground. Melbourne's trying to outdo London with a big wheel. P12 sits with SH30 and another SH set and P14 on a Poor Mans XPT. This service would most likely form a Baccus Marsh service. Sprinter 7010 and another Sprinter on a Seymour Service. Lastly a bit of history from the 1980's. From West Footscray and from the same footbridge. V/line's X43 and another loco head out of Tottenham towards the City.

About 500m from here there are 4 High voltage ones which come from the Latrobe Valley and head up through Roville and towards the city. I remember a few years ago I was outside and saw one of the workers were up extreme ontop on the the biggest ones working on the wires that are above the ones that carry the power.

Reading the 'Door Speeds on the S Stock thread" Prjb made mention that the doors will shut after a pre-determined ammount of time but no pilot light. So I would think they are there to re open the doors. Our Siemens and X'traps have the same feature. The Doors close as normal(With the beep-beep-beep-beep) but the door lights stay on. It is funny when the Cattle make the dash to the doors only to find out they can board the train. ;D The Link to the post: tinyurl.com/2aqbrz
