It may be to allow the track to expand in heat and contract in cold wooden sleepers have a little flexibility compared to solid concrete.

As the wimbledon branch is already enabled, that'll probably start to see the first city services to tower hill and possibly barking. I'd imagine the routes to Ealing Broadway and upminster will be enabled first, and Richmond last, but whilst these are being enabled but I suspect a big priority at the moment is getting the depots and the routes to and from them enabled, considering how little space there is at the moment It depends on how quickly they can train the T/Ops Earls Court is nearly completed Acton is starting to train their T/Ops so that will enable the C stocks to retire once we are all trained then the East end Depots Barking & Upminster have to be trained until then it will be unlikely to see them on city services because if an S stock arrives at a relief point and the relief driver is not S stock trained it will cause chaos.

Just got off the phone to the Oyster "helpline". And what a frustrating experience that was! What would have taken 10 minutes at a ticket office took over 45 minutes on the phone and still isn't resolved. Basically, my idiot child had met friends on Saturday on the PAID side of the barriers out in west London. They then travelled as a group back to the centre of London, using a bizarrely tortuous route possibly related to Skyfall or some computer game which involves tube stations, and he exceeded the Oyster time limits, leading to a number of incomplete journeys which don't count towards the daily price caps. The woman on the phone couldn't check his journeys, had to refer it to a colleague who said the prices were correct (which they were but that's not what I was complaining about), told me that the maximum cap for his card was £9.40 when it's actually £8.20 if you go via Watford Junction, or £1.50 everywhere else on the network. She tried telling me it was due to him travelling in the peak... on a Saturday. Utter, utter rubbish. I was reading out URLs to her to show where it said on their website about incomplete journeys not counting towards daily caps. when contactless is rolled out the ultimate get out for LUL is nothing to do with us contact your bank (3rd world class service)

The current plan is to work set 71 with an S this week Mon - Fri to upskill as many more drivers as possible. 75 may also be worked by an S at times. In each case the displaced C will stand by at Parsons Green, Triangle or Lillie Bridge to take over the working if it can not be staffed by an S qualified driver or Instructor. Saturday has no planned S stock operation on the Wimbledon - Edgware Road service, though that could change. The formal change to allocated workings takes place from start of traffic on Sunday 23rd February on sets 71, 74 and 77. With set 73 being changed over at Edgware Road during the day. Then the 4 S stock are allocated to weekday workings 70, 71, 75 and 77. (Clearly set 77 can't be reversed Putney Bridge bay as booked during the evening). I understand an additional spare C stock will be available at Parsons Green in case of any issues with The S roll out to the District. This train is already in position and I gather has indeed been covering cancellations due to unfit D stock. I haven't seen it out, but I did hear a manager mention it had done part of working 101. It was stabled on Friday night showing set number 007 at both ends. The exact set making up any District running or spare C will vary daily amongst the remaining serviceable sets. Of course the plans are very fluidic and are subject to frequent last minute changes! Set 077 will be reversing at Parsons Green instead of Putney Bridge

when I worked on the datelines if you had someone double gating with someone they knew and they used an oyster we used to tap our staff pass on the gate three times in succession this was as told by a revenue control inspector that the oyster system computer would flag up the oyster and what was happening and help in revenue protection as revenue officials could track where the offending person(s) travels between.

7123 has a large "dent" on front drivers side it is sitting in Ealing Common at the present time Apparently it struck a tree during the recent storms. It has now been moved inside the sheds at Ealing Common I got some photos last week .

First of all, hello everyone! This is my first post on the forum.
Going back to a question asked earlier regarding non safety critical shifts. I have been on a late shift in the past (1500 - 2300) and then had to go in for my annual training at 0900 the following day. I know colleagues who've had the same, even within the last week. When I asked my DSM if this was allowed, the response was that because the training was a non safety critical task, the 12 hour rule did not apply.
Otherwise, have to agree with all other posts who say it's 12 hours book off to book on minimum. If you happen to finish late, you return 12 hours later with no loss of pay. 12 hours between shifts you should have been finished at 2100 if you was training next day. If that was me I would have reported for training at 1100 CDP is still safety critical.

According to the S stock thread, there were quite a few extra S stocks in service today in addition to the nominated workings shown in the previous post. Do they really still need nominated workings at this stage? Presumably, all of the drivers are now trained on the new stock. I'm also assuming that they are able to stable anywhere on the H&C and Circle, so why the need for nominated workings? Well S7s can't work into Farringdon Sidings and Lillie Bridge Depot (until they have enough Earl's Court/Acton drivers trained on them for the latter) Earls Court are being trained at present Acton drivers will be trained from late december onwards In the new WTT from december only 4 "wimbleware trains have acton duties. 072 073 074 076 This means that S stocks are likely to encroach as t/ops and stock are available
