Excellent. Am really looking forward to taking a ride on one. Just need to wait for the necessary power and the like to be upgraded in central London for me to take a trip up to Wembley.
On an aside, on match days at Wembley, there are always big queues to get onto trains at Wembley Park. Once the JL and Met upgrades are complete, including all the new Stock being in service with thier higher capacity (see what I did there), I wonder what impact that will have on the length of time people queue. Am hoping it will be very positive.
I saw two pairs of class 20s outside Neasden along with the tanker translators last night (i think - i was slightly innebriated). Did they really use 4 locos on a move, or has there been more than one move, or did I have double vision?
Also saw the vinyl'd S stock as train 547 leaving harrow, and passed it later at moor park.
I got to ride it! And it was all thanks to my cunning as well. I was cruising past Neasden depot in an A stock en route to North Harrow when I saw it sitting outside the depot showing a destination of Watford. I that it would only have its destination display on if it was about to enter service. So I got off at Wembley Park to wait and see. Sure enough, about five or so minutes later it emerged from some kind of tunnel.
The train was so long and continuous. The seats were much more comfortable than the class 378. The DVA wasn't spliced particularly well though. The air con was a nice addition today. It was a little bit toasty on the A stock.
Despite all the strike disruption, I managed to Jump Train 401 from Harrow - Wembley park this morning with S-Stock Set 008 (car 21008 etc) running it. Very impressed with the ride, lack of noise, brightness and consistant temperature throughout. I even had a walk through for the novelty factor.
Driver did say on terminating at Wembley that there still not allowed any further south then Wembley yet though
