The 306s look fairly cramped to me though.

This could easily be done, however the difficulty would be that experience shows people don't listen to announcements. Like on Boxing Day when the Northern Line was closed south of Euston, every train was turning up with half the train ostensibly unaware the train was terminating there. I'm of the opinion that there's so many announcements on the system these days it's led to 'announcement fatigue' where hardly anybody listens to any of it anymore. You could probably announce a nuclear attack and nobody would take any notice. I'd half like to see someone try.

The Platform 3/4 extension has now opened and trains are stopping further down. Plenty extensive building work around the whole entrance too.

Why have London Underground switched away from this in general all year round? In the winter, it's resulting in cold air blowing into the train at every surface station.

GPS is provided by satellites in orbit, so I am not sure how you can improve coverage.

Are there any plans for a final farewell tour for the 315s when they've withdrawn?

The chance of TfL suing TfL is rather slim. Overground is operated by Arriva Rail London, mind.

The 306s didn't have inter-carriage gangways, which made it harder to relieve crowding; they also were only three carriages long and had zero accessibility for wheelchair users.
The EPBs, which operated on some of the now-LO lines are particularly cramped inside, based on my experience with the identical interiors of the Class 207 DEMU. Some of the earlier MUs even had closed compartments, which isn't very pleasant on a Saturday night.

Saw 710 121 and 710 129 coupled together today heading through the Bethnal Green area. Had a destination of 'Barking' on the front for some reason, but the train had no passengers and judging by the time, it was probably ECS working 5V60: www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/L45322/2020-01-13/detailed

And the idea has been around since the 1970s. I remember the original 1990s proposal that was going to be going to Aylesbury...

Why has all the plaster been removed from the walls in the corridor going to the platform here?
Also, what is a Delta lined wall in the first place?

The 387s also need refurbishing to make them more akin to the 332s that currently operate HEX. The 387/3s of GatEx won't cut the mustard on a premium service like HEX - frankly they don't even do it for Gatwick.

There's never been a 12 coach 315 formation to my knowledge. Certainly not on TfL rail. Also, the 710s will likely operate as pairs of 4-car units at most.

5xxx does mean an Empty Coaching Stock run. But that can also be used for staff training operations.
As for the 317s, the ones with the blue seating (3177xx) are the ex-Stansted Express units that were converted first from 317/1s; the other ones are the 317/8s, converted later.
