Ask a stupid question, but would it be possible to run a non-stop service through the core at the moment?
I'm thinking this because the Excel Centre is going to be of the Covid-19 vaccination hubs for London and so will be very busy on a daily basis for a while.

So, that's it then. The last BR era stock gone from LO.

I live in the area and just call it the "push-pull".

Ask a stupid question, but is it possible to run freight through the tunnels?

it was named for one of the main termini that it connected, which was itself named for the area in which it stood. Of course, that area was named for QV. Specifically, Victoria Street (opened 1851) which lent its name to the station opened nine years later. My point still remains. A station can't fit in the 2009 stock.

l'd prefer it to be called "Crossrail" l wonder how much money has been spent (= wasted) on re-branding? There's not much that will need physical rebranding. They announced fairly early on the Crossrail project is to deliver the Elizabeth line. I've only heard of one customer-facing sign saying Crossrail (vinyl covered but they're readable through those temporary stickers). In some Network Rail places, it's stickers over stickers now.

We did name the Victoria Line after someone who couldn't use it either.

However, you do have a considerable slow down as you come into Liverpool Street High Level, something you won't have with Crossrail.

There's running on multiples for test and running in multiples with passengers on board.

They're definitely coming back on the District Line in my experience. I'll take a look at how busy the Central is when I am next at Mile End.

345004 failed this afternoon, struggling to switch into TPWS mode. It has since run ECS to depot. Rome wasn't built in a day. Nor was it burnt down in one.

The 'possession' is preventing any train testing at all so they can finish off the construction works and station testing.

It'll likely still open, but I imagine that a lot of the demand that they'd expected will no longer be there - some degree of increased homeworking is going to be the norm going forward.

Did it have a Euston-Watford and NLL map above the opposite door? Not sure why it would - those are wholly and partly respectively DC lines and the 710/1s are AC only.

Note overhead line pickup. Must be intended for through running on the Great Northern & City! It's all overhead. The initial testing was all done on one track so bi-directional running was needed. The illuminated panels above the doors are capable of showing trains in the wrong direction. They're using conductor rail instead of standard wires, BTW.

It's a Class 33 diesel. Although not a 33/1 that would be capable of working push-pull with a 4TC.
