I can see now it is a joke... However, names like that can end up being real. I once went to school with a boy named Peter File... He's changed his named now to Dave for reasons that are clear

Ahhh, but this linked to Miss Tree Chopper and her focus groups. Stopping in tunnels can make pass customers anxious, so to keep Miss Tree Chopper happy train ops need to make an announcement within 30seconds of stopping. It appears to comply with this some do it straight after stopping. Its not useful info, but it ticks the box on the form. Is that a real person's name?

Indeed, that's the chirping of the pre-Connect train radio fitted to '92/'95/'96 Stock. At 0.59 can be heard the air-hiss of the signal trainstop returning to its danger position. Good grief... A member less then two days and I get something right! One of my hobbies is shortwave radio and the beeping sounded very much like a Selcal system logging in just before a call is made, so I went with gut instinct and made a guess. Guess I can really make a contribution

In this video, as the train departs at around 1:00, a rather odd (to my ear) noise can be heard as it heads over the crossover, consisting of one beep, then three tones and then you can hear the sound of it cutting off as the video switches to another clip. Does anybody know what this sound indicates? Ta I am going to guess, but it sounds a little like a cab radio thing. I am merely guessing, but it does sound a bit like it. Most likely wrong with what knowledge I have of tube stock systems, but I am going with my knowledge of radios

Don't forget my earlier comment about needing the permission of the person in the picture when the picture was a selfie. Am I permitted to authorise myself to take my own picture verbally or must I write a letter to myself giving permission to take my own picture? I think you should always have it in writing. You don't want to end up in the difficult position where you've taken yourself to court and you haven't got any evidence to prove that you gave yourself permission to take a picture of yourself with which to defend yourself against yourself. If you know what I mean Indeed... I will heed your advice, tut, to have written permission from myself

Yeah those evening Olympia trips will be D stock: Oh goodie - then I am CERTAINLY going then! At least somebody has answered why the trains are numbered such, although it does seem odd to me that trains are numbered non sequentially. I would've assumed that they would have gone Train One - 1 and so on - confuses me why some trains appear to be in service before others. Whatever happens, I'll be sure to get those two evening trains for a bit a - to me - rare track. It can fill in the time I have before 2200 when I leave for home Thank you again, tut, for your help. If you see me out and about (i'll be dressed much the same as my avatar) feel free to give me a tap on the shoulder - same applies to anyone!

You wouldn't happen to know why that is would you? Its part of LUL's dumbing down of information, and being careful with the info that passengers actually need. Also, appaearing to be 'Proactive' about dealing with issues so it looks as they are actually doing something about it. Hence the "While we fix a signal failure at ...." Would that also include something "trespasser on the line"? Just that I was held at Sloane Square on a District Line after the doors had closed. After about ten to twenty seconds of not moving, the driver came on and said there was a trespasser on the line in front of us. Took a minute or so to get moving as I recall

One question: Why is one of those trains marked "11D"? To me it seems a rather odd designation for a train. Train is scheduled to carry deicing equipment. The next running of the "special train service for events" will be in December. In summer? Seems a little odd to me, although I presume this is attached permanently to said unit. I guess I will find out when I go in a dew days then. Although tut and the timetable says "training run" will it actually be D stock instead of anything else? Just asking because a YT search shows D stock running only last month on a service for the evening runs - although I admit the upload date does not reflect the fact it could have been taken well into the past. Glad for all the help as it sounds like the next best thing to going to Aldwych! Wonder if I will see any of the forum members here around - Dstock7080 might be one, I presume...

Quiz Answer: Embankment
Is that Test Card "F"? I much prefer "F" to any of the others that appeared. As a side note, the girl in the picture still owns the clown in question and holds the record for most TV appearances in TV history

Thank you, tut, for your quick reply - most kind of you to help me. Your warning about unusual movements has been read and duly noted. As, to keep my fare as low as possible, I can not get into London any time before 11:14 I think we can safely eliminate 753 in the morning. I think the evening Kensington to Olympia services sound the best best for me, but I'll no doubt see whats what on the actual day I go. Luckily, it would not be such a loss if they did not run as there are other runs I could do before having to make my way back to Kings Cross St Pancras for the journey home. I suppose I could always fall back on the old methods and ask a member of staff what is going on! Went back through the history on the pc and found the website from 2011 - link below. Planning a return trip to London soon with the aim of hopefully doing Olympia as an old website (2011 vintage) indicates it has an evening service during the weekdays - these being at 1958 and 2038 from Olympia - these being to High Street Kensington. Are these still valid departures and, if so, from where do they come from or are they ECS runs to there? Either a service or working timetable would be of great use as I can't seem to make the TFL site do what I want.
It may not seem much to some, but to someone like me that is still fairly new to this, even if I have used the network a number of times, Olympia seems somewhat rare track to me and must be visited. Has to be Wednesday or Thursday because that is the cheapest days for me to get to London and still have a reasonable day out.
Thank you in advance

This is the work in progress: London Underground D78 Stock. This is not about quantity, but an attempt at immortalising every motor car that has served the website's namesake. All I can say, from a new member's point of view, is to keep up the good work!

If you were left feeling unable to get home, one presumes the LU failed their duty of care to a vulnerable person? - more experienced members will no doubt say more.
I was only there the other week when I took a picture at Terminal 5 platforms (hence my avatar) when a member of platform staff (not sure the actual "rank") asked me to put away the camera - stating I needed permission from the people in the picture. I found this somewhat odd as the only person in said picture was, in fact, me... - promptly gave myself permission to take my own picture.
Later on, I had the chance to take a picture of a Picc train outside, in the sunshine and a member of platform staff came to me, asked what I was doing and, upon being told what I was doing stated "No flash" but I was welcome to spend as much time as I wanted there and much the same at Kensington
Maybe the staff, as tut suggests, had a darned bad day and just took it out on you - though that is hardly an excuse of course

Ah, but maybe it's now going to do what it says on the tin-go over the Northern Heights and reach you in 'Ull.
New depot at Mill Hill East-145 mph bullet trains, next stop, East Riding of Yorkshire.
From this week's deadline-day deals, you've got the cash for it!
Well it is only 3 hours, 57 minutes at a max speed of 45MPH... I presume it would be in full Auto Mode in order to skip Watford Gap service station?

I wanted to do as far west as the Heathrow Loop, so that was what I wanted. I clearly stated the lower priced ticket that I wanted but was told the £12.50 was what I needed. Being the person that doesn't like to cause a scene unless it is very well needed, I caved in. Does anybody have any advice on what i should do if anything? I dont know if the man in the ticket office thought I was an easy picking or something because I am a tourist...
Also, any help with part 2 of my question?

First of all, I want to apologise if this is in the wrong area, but it is my first real thread making - assuming you do not count my introductory thread! I didn't know if this should be here or on the DLR board for part of the questions relate to that - so I decided here was the safer option.
When I was in London the other week, I got the all day ticket priced at £12.50 which I got at roughly 11.20am - even though I asked for the £8.90 option which, according to the customer helpline the previous day, was "the best option for you". They had attempted to persuade me to buy an Oyster card, but given the fact I'd be touching in and out of so many stations during the day, I decided to go for the day ticket. Seeing as the £8.90 option was perfectly valid and somewhat cheaper for me to get, does anybody know why I was given the more pricey card? I did state three times, very clearly the exact card I wanted, but to no avail. (I have kept said card and double checked the latest fares online). Any advice on what I should do?
2nd Question
May I use my All Day Travelcard on DLR services on the entire DLR network or just certain services/routes? I did read it is counted as such for ticketing purposes, but was not sure if that applied to travelcards as well.
Again... Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I really was not sure about where to put it.
