Some have been wearing protectors for sometime. The problem seems to have got worse as the track gets replaced. Since that was taken it doesn't seem as bad at Waterloo. Whether that's because the track has worn in or they greasers I don't know. Video of it here Sweet music to my ears - closing my eyes, I could almost think I was on a nodding donkey at full speed! I once saw a photograph of a Central line train at East Acton captioned with: 'Hung over? Let me sing the song of my people' I would love to see such a picture

I do! I love the ruddy things more then I love my own family actually... They used to do Hull - York but they got displaced by 156 and 158 units - though sometimes spotted on the early runs from time to time. However, the early morning Hull - Sheffield runs are often Pacers throughout the whole thing which suits me very well in winter when the heating is switched off and I claim the seats nearest the leading doors

Was it in service or one of these test runs? In service on a training run from Plaistow. Forgive me for being confused but I am still learning the correct terms. Can you clarify if it was a public accessible service or in non passenger service

It's obviously U/G, so remove all the O/G stations No problem... Is it either Hampstead, Belsize Park, Chalk Farm, Highgate, Archway, Tufnell Park, Kentish Town, Mornington Crescent, Euston, Warren Street, Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Charing Cross, Embankment, Waterloo, Euston, King's Cross/St Pancras, Angel, Old Street, Moorgate, Bank & Monument, London Bridge, Borough, Elephant & Castle, Kennington, Oval, Stockwell, Clapham North, Clapham Common, Clapham South, Balham, Tooting Bec, Tooting Broadway, Colliers Wood, South Wimbledon or Morden?

I'll have a second guess at it being somewhere on the southern branch - Tooting Broadway Perhaps? With respect, surely I have already won by listing them in one go...?

EASY! Willesden Traction Maintenance Depot facing west (Maybe the picture is taken from the Northern London Line) with a Class 87 and a rake of Cargo-D's Mk3 coaching Agreed - although it is an 86 rather than an 87 #pedant! Close enough... The important thing is I got it right !

I think Waterloo has Moorgate control (aka TETS) for precisely that purpose. It's now my turn to talk out of my comfort zone, but I think there's flank protection too, judging by this image. If I'm right, the points would be set for the trap road (leading to the buffers off to the left in the immediate foreground) as a train approaches so that if it were to overrun despite the Moorgate control and the raised trainstop (raised for the fixed red light at the end of the platform), it would be diverted down there and not into harm's way. I see... I did not know if there was a bit of retarded track set up or if said train would continue into Waterloo depot and either be caught there or have an incident...

Of course, I do not believe the Monarch is rated for D stock Maybe it's like on the road? I've heard she doesn't need a driving license, but can drive a car As the courts are the possession of the Queen, she can't be done for not having a licence. As it happens, though, she does hold a licence since the war when she drove a trucks and an ambulance during WW2 and one was issued in her name at that point according to the law. According to the DVLA, their records indicate she did hold one until she turned 70 at which point she would have needed a retest and a new one issued. However, as the monarch and ruler of this country she may certify herself as no court in the land may try her... Prince Charles would not require one as he holds a licence - Princess Anne holds a Class 2 HGV licence! Incidentally, this came to a head a few years ago when somebody gave the Queen a plant that was made up of cannabis plant leaves. This sparked a debate as to weather or not the Queen could have been done for Possession. Rather fascinating to read what the Queen can do that we can not

I was just reading an old article about how some trains overshoot the platforms or end up running away. Now whilst I can imagine this would could a few minor to moderate injuries at Bank, what would happen if a train overshot or ran away at the Waterloo end? Is the track set up to deal with that at all? For the purposes of this argument, the driver has been incapacitated.
If it has happened, when and what was the result?

I have read that, but does the TFL website itself not permit "ad hoc" pictures to be taken without question such as taking a family member's picture sat under a roundel? As I interpret it, if I was to wait for a High Street Kensington to Olympia service and I spotted a train coming through with Her Majesty the Queen at the controls, this would count as an ad hoc picture and be alright as it was a spur of a moment thing.
Of course, I do not believe the Monarch is rated for D stock

I do know the terror level is at the highest level. When I went to London the other week I was given a wide berth because of the beard I have and the rucksack on my back - based solely on looks I was thought to be up to no good
Given the fact there are around 200 ISIS members in the country, its possible that they know something that we don't with regards to a possible threat to the tube network. Perhaps things will be calmer in a few days
