For some reason in my head I automatically assumed they would go via the NLL, I completely forgot that the core is usable now!

Is the other entrance still there? The temporary entrance had better still be there as the brand new station building on Cranbrook Road is not yet ready for use. I'll be in Ilford town centre this afternoon so will take a look

I believe the temporary entrance will remain until Cranbrook Road is completed. I'm on my way home now so will use the new entrance.

Ealing Broadway has become the 3rd of the original TFL Rail West station rebuilds to be completed coming into use this morning. Southall, West Drayton and Hayes & Harlington stations are all projected to be complete by September 2021. Click here if Tweet fails to appear

LT Museum are selling some of the TfL Rail signs from the eastern end. I've not been on that line for a good while, but have the signs changed there?

Note the planters with flowers (on the right) and the hanging baskets with flowers in front of platform 5. Now that building works have been completed it would be great if whoever it is that runs the station nowadays reinstated these features!

Rode my first Greater Anglia 720/5 today; notably they are referring to the Elizabeth Line in their information announcements.

To the individual who was wondering what the core announcements sound like, a visit through Custom House gave some answers. The Elizabeth Line announcements are clearly audible from DLR platforms.
START The train now approaching platform (A or B) is the Elizabeth Line service to (destination). END
Similar announcements were heard for trains non-stopping Custom House. Obviously as TfL Rail gets knitted into the core these announcements may grow in length but they appear to be the same voice that’s currently loaded onto TfL’s Aventra onboard announcements.

I assume Emma Higgnet then? I don't know about the other lines, but I do know that her platform announcements were replaced by Anne a while back on the East London line. Wonder how long before she is replaced there too - I personally can't stand her announcements on the railways! Nothing to do with her voice, but the way they are stitched together really grates me.

The Moorgate (Crossrail) ticket hall on Moorfields has been opened to the public giving another route into the existing station plus step-access currently only to the sub-surface lines. This follows on from the Liverpool Street (Crossrail) complex which includes Moorgate being formally handed over to London Underground today. Paddington, Whitechapel and Canary Wharf stations are all expected to be handed over by the end of August. Notice again what's missing from that list. Article herePhotos from IanVisits:

nice so crossrail lift gives access to one of platforms - i cant see layout where lifts go to The new ticket hall has lifts that currently only serve both Met/Circle/H&C platforms. They will serve the lower areas of the combined Liverpool Street/Moorgate station when Crossrail opens. This will include the Northern line.

nice so crossrail lift gives access to one of platforms - i cant see layout where lifts go to Note that the levels I’ve put at each area aren’t the ones on the lifts themselves, that’s just to aid orientation. Location wise at platforms, A is just by the stairs for the subway under the Sub-Surface lines, B is likewise on the opposite side of the same subway and C is in the northernmost cross passage between the Northern line platforms.

Why can’t level -5 be locked off on lift D therefore allowing lift access to the Northern line.

Why can’t level -5 be locked off on lift D therefore allowing lift access to the Northern line. Bringing the Northern line lifts into use at this stage would leave two levels (-2 & -4) and a sizeable amount of corridors only publicly accessible by lifts with adjoining areas sealed off which would have implications say if the station needed to be evacuated for example. In short, they are rather isolated from the rest of the operational station complex as it stands now which is why they will be brought into use in conjunction with the start of Crossrail services.

Will eastbound SSR to Northern line really require 4 lifts? platform → ticket hall ticket hall → intermediate landing intermediate landing → Northern line link Northern line link → Northern line Yes, unfortunately so. The southern end of the Northern line platforms is extremely camped with the adjoining corridors and escalator barrels of the Northern line, Northern City Line and a spiral staircase all hemmed into a very constrained space.

Changing from the vic or pic line to the SSR at Kings X requires 3 lifts and it takes an extra 2 minutes between the pic and SSR if using lifts vs escalators at stairs. Anyway that’s going off topic now.
