Hello everybody, I’ve been lurking on this thread for a few weeks in readiness to nip down to London and get my last go on the latitudinal seating. Any best guesses as to when the final day of normal service is likely to be (or how many weeks off we are)? Towards the end of April, 8 weeks from tomorrow will be close.

So when are the specials being run (or am I being hopeful)?

Rather looks as though the end is very nigh. 7533, one of the first into service all those years ago, apparently not being kept for last public working/farewell tour, then.... With the loss of 7532/3, I wouldn't mind 'Olympic' 7007 being part of the last D stock to run...

Is that just so LUL can extract the maximum permissible mileage out of them, while keeping new S stock in the sidings? Not that I'm complaining or anything! But it just seems a bit odd, given that there can now only be four or five (max.) trains now available for service, maybe 2 or 3 out on any given day. Experts, please advise the uninitiated on what is going on...

It's probably a case of "the D's have some mileage left, so let's use them."

Things are still tight, with 6 S7 trains away from London either undelivered (2) or returned for ATC Automatic Train Control fitment (4). +1 temporarily loaned to Metropolitan Line =7 fleet: 133 trains, peak requirement District/Circle/H&C Lines: 109

Of course, it's of interest as being the lowest numbered now remaining, if not the first in service.

May try to seek a D stock on Saturday, so any info on which (if any) are running would be appreciated.

In the end, dodgy weather and main line engineering works dissuaded me from going to London. Not sure if I would have seen any D's.

Now that the line is mainly S stock does the average driver, (not enthusiasts) curse or smile when a D arrives.
