The S7 ran in service both into and out of Mansion House pfm.2. I believe it was requested by the Operator of the train, as a sort of first & last! . If S7s can use the bay after all, why has it been taken out of use?

If S7s can use the bay after all, why has it been taken out of use? S7 Stock could only use the platform in emergencies as the platform was very tight indeed, no equipment was fitted on the platform, so the front 3 and rear 3 doors would remain closed and assisted dispatch required on departure as no cctv was available for S Stock. Not for passenger use and it will go in due course. The train did run in service and the bay has already gone.

The S7 ran in service both into and out of Mansion House pfm.2. I believe it was requested by the Operator of the train, as a sort of first & last! Tower Hill bay was free at the time. Apart from very early engineering hours testing in 2012 i doubt any have gone in there. A bit odd that a move described as "to be used only in emergencies" is granted on request!

Went past today and as Dstock7080 says, the track on platform 2 has been lifted.

EDIT:

The entire afternoon Upminster run-out was S7.
Also, T53 had been swapped over for an S7, meaning there were only 5 D's in service for the evening peak.

Was just thinking - is 5 D stocks the fewest that have run in peak service to date?

I'm sure there was a time when they were being introduced that fewer than 5 ran in service.

We used to ferry the D Stock in 6-car (2x 3-car double-ended) formation from Ealing Common depot to Aldgate East where a crew change was undertaken but I usually stayed on and would drive the train to New Cross depot, there we would bring another 6-car back for the routine maintenance. Car diagrams in the double-ended units would show the combined District and East London Line.

Thu 27/10
Rich - Upm T7 T10
EBY - Upm T27 T33 T34 T35
All other trains were S7, including all the pm starters
What was interesting was that there was a convoy of 5 consecutive D stocks between Upminster & Barking, and Earls Court to Turnham Green. I wonder if this was pre-arranged? Seems a bit too much of a coincidence!

Yes, as I understand it, and while they were away, having the work done, the D78s were subbed in for them, since they weren't needed on the District at that time.

Might be the wrong thread, but car 7114, did anything special happen to it? There are new posters up all over the place at work that show the car carrying what looks like new headlights etc inside a warehouse. I may be incorrect on the number.
