Certainly over the past decade it has only ever been in the middle of a train, when did TBC start packing up? Shortly after refurbishment I guess it started thinking that the driver had let go of the controller all the time.

I think that the deadman was faulty even before refurbishment, but it must have been considered not a problem, as it almost got "flagship" status because it had both the yellow pages livery and the back the bid livery, as well as one of the trail refurbishments. Although I suppose the fact that it was always in the middle made it a bit easier to follow and when they chose the trains to do, they thought of that one. I'm quite glad that it's stayed with us this long, as it is one of my favourite units (because of the number mainly, but also because of it's problems) Although I do wonder sometimes... I'm fairly confident that 5555 is for the chop early on, as its pretty much useless unless its in the middle of a formation. did someone high up see this and think "Just to spite this forum member, we'll keep this one till the bitter end"

I thought it was because of it's "special status" that it was chosen for the unique liveries; being only usable in the middle of a set it wasn't only the livery that prevented the train being reformed.

Given that the LT Museum is to save a C stock car, there is part of me that wants it to be car 5555... it's always been a favourite of mine !

N-5565+5570+5598-S has made it to Northwood. Is the scrap move no longer required to travel via Watford? Something this morning suggested it didn't.
In the Klondyke Sidings at Neasedn Depot are N-5705+5546+5717-S and N-5538+5729+5580-S.

Is the scrap move no longer required to travel via Watford? Something this morning suggested it didn't. It is still booked to run via Watford, likewise the moves from Hammersmith-Northwood are booked to run via Moorgate. On occasions, a quick reverse move at Northwood or Baker Street have thrown the intended paths into disarray causing frustration to us photographers!

I got on my train at Ricky noticing T716 was punctual to say the least at Harrow and so got off at Moor Park to photograph. It never arrived!

It appears to be an alternative crew access to Neasden Depot.
Is work going on in the usual subway?

Any idea if anymore of the C stock will leave from Ealing Common? I caught two leaving a while ago when I was leaving work, not sure if I got very lucky or what. I do have a video somewhere.

Hi lads
I went down to London today and went for a ride down to Edgware Road today. Yes you were right there only 4 C stock and 4 S7 stock trains running the line
S7 stock trains total of 4
Train 070 21301+21302 advertising Tube 150 one
Train 071 21405+21406
Train 075 21347+21348
Train 077 21305+21306
C69+C77 stock trains total of 4
Train 072 5596 6596 5560 6560 5727 6727
Train 076 5726 6726 5552 6552 5720 6720
Train 073 5592 6592 5517 6517 5533 6533
Train 074 5516 6516 5551 6551 5712 6712
The one at Parson Green station Was a spare one Total x1
Train 071 5549 6549 5555 6555 5522 6522 in the box it had No 071 on the front of it
This was going to be covering a S7 stock train if it failed. But it was still there when I went pass Parson Green station around about 1330
This was a shock when I saw a S7 at Edgware Road station on the District line this morning Make the Most of the old stock while it is Here

I'm surprised that 5555 is still with us given the fact that it can't be driven anymore. Do the middle DMs give any power to the train at all or is it just the front DM?

AFAIK, all motored cars in a train produce drive. Otherwise why have them at all, why not just have trailers with a DM at each end?

All motor cars provide power and tractive effort to the train, it's only the control console on 5555 that's b*ggered. I am still surprised that 5555 got past the 1st quarter of 2013, let alone still operational in Q1 2014! I would be lying if I said 5555 is entirely worthless, it certainly is something of a curiosity for enthusiasts (and dread for depot managers no doubt). Aside from the C Stock languishing at Neasden right now, can we expect to see more C Stock withdrawals in the next fortnight?

I was rather suprised that someone on this forum thought that only the leading car supplied power for all the train!

I was rather suprised that someone on this forum thought that only the leading car supplied power for all the train! I wouldn't be quite so harsh... we all need to learn at some point and believe me, even as a former Admin... or a forum Consultant now... I still tend to suffer from foot in mouth from time to time

Quite agree. I think I know loads and then I get talking to one of the drivers and realise I have much to learn! That's why we're on here!

Have all the recently withdrawn 'C' Stock units been despatched through Northwood? More to the point I will be in the Ruislip area on Monday and wonder if anything is likely to be at Northwood that day. Probability is that I will just be around on a Monday when nothing is happening but if anyone has any info I can plan my day around this to some extent.

Thanks Dstock7080 and br7mt. All sounds interesting but sadly my weeks schedule set in stone. Oxford and Ruislip on Monday and working at home on the Isle of Wight the rest of the week. Can only make a jail break every so often!!!
