There were 2 c stock stabled at parsons green today, where these replaced in their duty by s stock, or because of issues with them. One had number 101 on the front, which is a mainline district service if I'm correct 5733+5550+5594 where stabled on 29 road at Parsons Green this morning, I take it they have been there all week.

There seems to have been a unit in 29 road most days, and occasionally in other roads as well. During the week I have seen 5705 in there as well, so I'm guessing that the unit stood down is rotated on a daily basis - I'm guessing that most likely it is the C stock that would have operated train 71, it shunts from 24 road into 29 road to be replaced by the s stock for that day, and then at the end of the day, it would shunt into road 22 ready to be used the next morning on train 70

. . . but the withdrawal list says 2 different numbers at the moment. Which numbers are you referring too? The list says "C69, 21 units remain", but when I count I count 24 units with ---- in the date withdrawn column, the C77 part is right

The current plan is to work set 71 with an S this week Mon - Fri to upskill as many more drivers as possible. 75 may also be worked by an S at times. In each case the displaced C will stand by at Parsons Green, Triangle or Lillie Bridge to take over the working if it can not be staffed by an S qualified driver or Instructor. Saturday has no planned S stock operation on the Wimbledon - Edgware Road service, though that could change. The formal change to allocated workings takes place from start of traffic on Sunday 23rd February on sets 71, 74 and 77. With set 73 being changed over at Edgware Road during the day. Then the 4 S stock are allocated to weekday workings 70, 71, 75 and 77. (Clearly set 77 can't be reversed Putney Bridge bay as booked during the evening).
I understand an additional spare C stock will be available at Parsons Green in case of any issues with The S roll out to the District. This train is already in position and I gather has indeed been covering cancellations due to unfit D stock. I haven't seen it out, but I did hear a manager mention it had done part of working 101. It was stabled on Friday night showing set number 007 at both ends. The exact set making up any District running or spare C will vary daily amongst the remaining serviceable sets.
Of course the plans are very fluidic and are subject to frequent last minute changes!

Indeed, I saw a C stock operating train 101 to Mansion House on Friday morning at about 8AM. As for upskilling drivers, I assume this means getting drivers confident on handling the trains in passenger service. Also when the Acton drivers start to get S trained, will they also be upskilled on these Earls Court trains, or will they just stick a 5th S stock out and about to replace one of the remaining 4 C stocks?

John Coleman Hi, if you have a read back through the previous few pages of this thread, you'll find the answer. It's always a good idea to read back before asking questions. As for train 101, it is scheduled to be D stock, as will be the case every day. The C stock only covered it due to a shortage of available D stock.

Does anybody know why 1 unit was withdrawn today? Which 'unit' are you referring to? Today's train (3 units) which went to Northwood was the third of the four 'trains' that were withdrawn last Monday. Unless you are referring to something else?

The list says unit 5550 has been withdrawn to Neasden Depot with no other units saying the same, also the number of "69" units in service has gone down by 1 but the "77" unit number hasn't changed.

I notice that somebody has updated Wikipedia to say that C stock no longer operate on the H&C and Circle. However, has withdrawal been made official? The last I heard was that it wasn't. And in any case, you have the early morning and light night District runs to / from Hammersmith. Although officially District workings, they are providing a service on the H&C / Circle. So officially, the line is still offering C stock in passenger service.

There were conflicting reports as to the correct identity of one of the moves from Hammersmith to Neasden on Monday. This unit (5553) could only be confirmed when the same train moved to Northwood today, confirmed by myself. The updating of the withdrawals list is done by observations from Members and is not drawn from an official list. Please be patient if the updating is not done precisely when the moves are made, we are all volunteers and strive to have the information correct. (5703 5707 are also shown as "withdrawn to Neasden")

As mentioned earlier, trains 72, 73, 74, & 76 will still be C stock on weekdays until about may, but as more drivers get trained, I imagine that S7s might start to find themselves operating one or two of these trains as well. However when the next 4 C duties officially swap over to S7s on Sunday, those Cs (4x3 units) will be surplus to requirements, and will inevitably find themselves at Northwood before too long.
