What do you mean by 'new' inter car barriers? By this I mean the barriers that stop drunk gooks falling in the space between cars. That didn't stop one at Chalfont & Latimer the other night!

It does look better second time round. Quite odd, normally when you look at a woman second time round they look worse.
Though with people sitting in the seats it's not really going to make much visual difference. I can see the dirt on the Beige walls, a simple scrub would be lovely to show everyone that they aren't beige!
Also, the inside of the doors? takes 2 minutes to wash them. They do clearly come off, I've seen footprints on some of them!! =/

More fitting for the Vicadilly or Picctoria, but the Central? No! Out of place. Not the clever Landmark design, but the Bloooooo. Should of been a nice claret or maroon background. The rest of the train apart from the window frames hasn't been tarted up at all, including the cabs. Which leaves the vandalism and grime, both inside and out, untouched. I feel for the guys fitting all this new fabric. They must wear welder's goggles.

Going back to the Prototypes, the Red train looks the most modern, and if I didn't know better, I would mistake it for a mock up of new stock for today, so why was the modern look from the red train (and somewhat so the green and blue trains) not carried across. the 1992TS is just a big failure, and as has been previously mentioned, the new moquette is very poor and outkeeping with the look and ambience of the train, and the central line colour scheme.

Nope, but I've seen plenty of pictures and videos, and think that the original interior is far better designed.

Trust me it looks better in real life, the interior is the same as before. But then again its all down to opinions

I don't like the look of the moquette though, and as previously mentioned, the stitching of the priority seat symbol into the moquette is OTT.

It wasn't a big transformation in my opinion as the so-called refurbishment didn't involve adding space for wheelchairs (one of my expectations due to RVAR). At least there's less tapes.

Its a little bit dissapointing, the one I saw still had scratches on the doors, still looked a bit rough.

I rode in 91171 from Debden to Stratford on my way home this evening. The seats are more comfortable and the car feels brighter, but the refurb is otherwise a very big disappointment. The paint on several of the poles is coming right off, and there are other rough-looking areas, particularly around the doors.
Better than nothing, but could have done much better.

92456/93456 look very odd sat in the middle of three un-refurbed units. Just new upholstery, the new windows but nothing else, the paintwork is still scabby.

I'm hoping this is just a stop-gap measure that needs to be done before the Olympics and that a 'proper' refurbishment will take place soon after. Hopefully i'm not hoping in vain...

It's a shame - 91183 is the unit that sets the standard for the refresh. New cab end, cooler LED lighting, window surrounds and like-it-or-loath-it blooooo moquette. It would appear that that's the only one that'll ever be done to that standard as there's no money to do the rest. That's being spent on LIS..............

I definitely think they should improve the interior lighting of the cars, as they have the dimmest lighting out of all current LU stock. Although it is more important to stop leaks, they should concentrate more on the interior than the exterior. I'm sure many passengers won't care how good their train looks on the outside as long as it gets them from A to B in comfort, and there are many people (including me) who don't like dim lighting anywhere, let alone in a public space.

I wonder when they were last cleaned. Probably never! I do hope no unit has any original lighting tubes left which date back to 1992! That would be creepy...

So no longer just watching, but touching aswell? You should see my arms from mine, looks like I've been juggling razor blades.
How people treat an environment is somewhat relative to how nice it is to start though, surely? Theres always gonna be some utterly destructive people out there, but generally most wouldn't be too bad... really the only thing that people ever commented on before the refurb was announced was how hard the seats were. New deep sprung cushions and brighter lights; neither should cost that much comparitively?
