Earls Court, Acton and Barking are all done. All Instructor Operator's and upgrade pool drivers also done. Who're the upgrade pool drivers, sorry?

We have a number of drivers over and above the normal number purely for the purposes of covering Intructors and drivers that are released for training.
They have been moved around the line as required covering for each depot in turn - initially they were at Earls Court, then Acton Town, then Barking and now they're currently covering at Upminster.
Once all of the training is complete, they'll be shipped off elsewhere around the combine wherever vacancies for drivers exist.

There is a problem with the track around the Richmond area S stocks seem to be more sensitive. I think the issues from Upney to Upminster is a few signals need minor adjustment to aid there sighting. News to me - my understanding is that Upney to Upminster (OS12) is complete with no additional work required and passenger services will commence sometime in the New Year. There is some residual work in OS13 (West Ken - Ealing Bdy) however.

I believe these two are being fitted with the ATMS equipment for measuring track geometry in service.

It's 2015 now and isn't it time for the first REGULAR S stocks to run to Ealing Broadway/Richmond.
When are the first of the REGULAR S stocks due to run to Ealing BDY/Richmond?

It's 2015 now and isn't it time for the first REGULAR S stocks to run to Ealing Broadway/Richmond. When are the first of the REGULAR S stocks due to run to Ealing BDY/Richmond? Richmond is still not available (again) for passenger service trains, only out-of-service test trains into pfm.6 can run at present. A few regular trains do run to Ealing Broadway, one such on a Saturday runs direct to Edgware Road. Hopefully the situation will improve very quickly, with S7 deliveries resuming soon and approval for passenger services to Upminster and Richmond about to be authorised. We are trying to keep postings of S Stock deliveries & introduction in this thread: S Stock delivery & introduction discussion

I can offer a little more meat to the bones regarding the plan for D stock workings becoming S stock worked, but I need to be at home and I'm not right now.
All will be revealed in a few hours.....

What's happening on that day? I would suspect from the less than cryptic clues given that D Stock withdrawals may be starting on that date. Whether or not that turns out to be the case remains to be seen. Either way, it could be a useful heads up for those requiring photos. Sorry for being cryptic. First passenger S Stock working from and to Upminster is this Friday assuming all the sign-offs are done. Will be on a special path. I assume that's what Colin is going to post later but if he doesn't I will. On Monday 19th the first D stock unit is withdrawn and a number of other S Stock workings are introduced using already delivered trains.

Yep, an S stock passenger run will operate Barking to Upminster this coming Friday utilising one of the training trains. Assuming all is well passenger service to Upminster will then be available from Monday 19th January. Richmond still isn't signed off though which may be an issue as train 2 below does a Richmond trip!!
It is planned to have 12 D stocks replaced by S stocks between 19th January and the May timetable change. Some of these will be midday stablers (ie, out in the peaks but back to depot during the day when less trains are needed in service); those that are out all day will primarily be Ealing services. I don't know what the plan is for weekends as the information I have only relates to weekdays.
It is possible that more may enter service prior to the May timetable change, but contractually the magic number is 12. The two east end training trains (753 & 754) will continue to run in addition to the 12 shown below.
The plan, which is subject to change and is therefore only a guide at best, looks like this:
Train 1......19/1/15......123 (am)/124 (pm) Train 2......19/1/15......63 Train 3......26/1/15......67 Train 4......2/2/15.......62 Train 5......2/2/15.......64 Train 6......9/3/15.......125 Train 7......16/3/15......66 Train 8......16/3/15......56 Train 9......23/3/15......102 Train 10.....30/3/15......60 Train 11.....30/3/15......55 Train 12.....6/4/15.......126

How many S7s are left to be built? The delivery list has been messed up around the 445/45 lines.

Train 177 will depart Upminster at 0807 and 1151 for Olympia returning from there at 0927 and 1306. It seems the D stock units to be withdrawn over the coming weeks will be subject to change so predicting unit numbers is going to be impossible.

The current rules are that we don't actively encourage posting information, but we accept its not state secret information. We prefer that its made clear that there are no guarantees - indeed there was a conversation going at Upminster today and from that I can guarantee that there is currently some doubt about Train 177 and what will or wont happen on Friday! The introduction of S stock, at least as far as the East end of the District line goes, is totally chaotic. If it were a brewery tour with free drinks you'd walk out stone cold sober. Train 6 (125) is the mansion House reverser so 125 is doubtful I never created that list - I just copy and pasted it! There's also another error which I wonder if the manager who created the list is aware of......trains 10 and 11 both start from 20/3/15......one comes out of Ealing Common and the other out of Upminster at the start of the day but both end up at Upminster in the evening. Errmm......stock imbalance!!!

Train 177? is that part of the normal district line working or is it from a special trains notice?

An update, approval for S7 passenger running to Upminster has now been issued. Will commence tomorrow as planned.
Also, Richmond restriction lifted from Monday although no LU trains will be permitted into pfm.7. (understand LO 378s were using it today). 5mph speed restriction for S7 at Gunnersbury EB also lifted from Monday.
S7s now permitted to run via fast line Hammersmith-Acton WB only.

So is that train 177 from Upminster depot at 8.07 deemed as the first S stock in service from Upminster?

I heard a rumour that 177 ran today, but whether that's true is for someone else to confirm or deny.
If it did run today instead of tomorrow, well that would back up my previous post about information not being guaranteed!
As for next week, trains 1 and 2 as shown above will definitely convert on Monday. I said above that both east end training trains (753 & 754) would continue in addition but that's now changed - 753 will effectively be cancelled. The rolling stock for 753 will instead be available to run as one of the Upminster interpeak stablers (101 - 110) but that will depend on whether the allocated driver is S stock trained, and whether an S stock is actually available.

I heard a rumour that 177 ran today, but whether that's true is for someone else to confirm or deny. If the rumour also says it departed Upminster at 8.07 this morning then it's wrong as I ended up heading Upminster this morning due to the lack of WB running trains and there was no S stock in sight around this time! If 8.07 is correct for tomorrow I can get to work on it at Elm Park. We shall see anyway!

S7s now permitted to run via fast line Hammersmith-Acton WB only. Have been able to run on the Eastbound fast since 25th October 2014! Aha! What if it ran today but not at 08.07?!!! It may well run tomorrow, but again there's no certainty that it will be at 08.07!

Aha! What if it ran today but not at 08.07?!!! It may well run tomorrow, but again there's no certainty that it will be at 08.07! Then I missed it! I just wanted to bring a bit of factual information into the mix Well if it doesn't, I won't see it. I saw 753 pass through Heathway heading to Upminster out of service the other day, and I got a picture on Christmas eve of it pulling into Upminster. imgur.com/DK55uiq
