Chris, That's what I was told last night. Fingers crossed... A couple of Conductor managers were out on the D.C. last night with 378007 training themselves up and a few D.I.'s were being trained aswell. It's a shame that 15 broke down last night though :-( it was going ever so well...

I had my first ride on a 378 the other night. The bit which will make passengers jump is the noise inside the train when the pan drops.

I have been so fortunate not to have been on these pesky things yet, but no doubt my time will come unless something for worse happens to me.
Cant wait to be working with all the passengers that have given me abuse over the years, really looking forward to it, pity that i am not in that elite position to be given full time release, perhaps my negotiating skills are not as good as i thought, or is it something else?
The good thing is that whilst the 313s are still around i will be able to sit between stations rather then in the future when you have to stand up to 9 hours on a 378 depending on the length of the diagram that you are working. No seat has been provided in the new trains for the Conductors, a first for the country.

Surely you could sit in the rear drivers cab as per the 313's now?

i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm67/astock5000/Overground/IMG_1546.jpgClass 378s at Willesden (photo taken from Willesden Junction High Level). The one outside the shed at this end is 378013. The two in the shed are 378005 and 378015, but I don't know what one is what. The 378 you can just see parked outside at the other end of the shed is 378007.

Speaking of 4-car Capitalstars, TfL recently ordered another 3 from Bombardier (source: Rail Management).

Speaking of 4-car Capitalstars, TfL recently ordered another 3 from Bombardier (source: Rail Management). Are they class 378/1s (DC only ELL units) or 378/2s (dual voltage units)?

The article didn't include a sub-class, though it says that the order was influenced by the approval of ELLX Phase 2b.

Actually scratch that, I made two mistakes:
1) The info actually came from TfL's latest Commissioner's Report and not Rail Management (I was thinking of something else when I said that). 2) The units are stated as being dual-voltage so they'll be 378/2s.
Must engage brain next time...

If they will be 378/2s, will they be numbered 378232 - 5 with ELL units starting at 136, or will they just number these units 255 - 7 (the unit numbers were going to be 378201 - 3768231 and 378132 - 378154)?

The plan seems to be to run them on the NLL & WLL first as this will give them more time to sort out any bugs in the cctv system..

Has anyone heard if any class 378's are likely to enter service this month and what lines?

Fingers crossed for Monday 6th July as this date has not been cancelled, yet, for the introduction of a couple of 378's in passenger service between Richmond and Stratford and a couple of journeys to Clapham Junction..

How many of the class 378's are they planning on putting into passenger service as i thought it would be 1 at a time. Is anyone going to be out in London next week who can keep an eye out ? i do want to have a trip on these new units as well as the Kenssington Olympia to Wandsworth road service

013 mileage started on Monday and all is going well so far... 015 had to be zero'd last week due to a traction motor problem and seems to be going fine as of last nights runs to Milton Keynes and back..

At the moment the slow lines have been blocked and the points from the fast to the slow have been removed so it's off to MK for the turn around.
