Thats good, maybe bombardier are now getting a move on with building these units. Hopefully it wont be long before the class 172's are built.
I wouldnt mind traveling on a class 378 on the east london line when it re-opens next summer

Unit 378016 has now arrived, which raises the question why are the trains coming in no semblence of order? I mean when i went to Derby back in December unit 003 was virtually completed yet this unit has not appeared on LOROLs radar yet.

routemasterkeith I was told that when a unit comes out of the factory they get put into the sidings. If 3 went first and the 4 went on top then 5 on top of that then 5 would be the first to be sent down and so on.. Seems odd though that 16 has arrived giving the impression that there are possibly 12 other units sitting at Derby waiting to come down. Hope this helps ?? and I hope this is correct..

Right here's a bit of info that I managed to find out Friday night about the next few 378 deliveries... Until 378005 & 378007 have been sold to Lorol/TfL then no more can be sent down as the rule seems to be no more than 5 unsold units at the tmd at any one time. Good news is that the sale is going to happen shortly and within the next 10 days, around 14th/15th July 5 & 7 should go into service (fingers crossed) and then Bombardier will start to send 2 more down and so on... So no more 378's arriving at Willesden until probably 16th, which is a Thursday and seems to be the normal day they arrive..
Hope this info helps ??

Have received both Drivers and Conductors diagrams for the introduction of these trains, the scheduled date is MONDAY 13 JULY, although as Chris has said 'dont hold your breath'.
Have also been told by staff that have been on these trains whilst in motion that if you stand at the back and look directly to the front you get sea sickness! not sure if its true though. The one good thing is that i wont be one of the chosen few to be on these new workings. YAY!

Mostly on the NLL although two trips will be on the WLL, The 07.37 Stratford to Clapham Junction and 08.53 return, with an evening trip 18.39 Stratford to Clapham Junction although no return as this circuit is Out of Service from Clapham Junction hope this helps.

All I saw was a scrolling destination on the front. So like the Southern. 15 & 13 had temp vocal announcements I found out through fiddling around with the tcms ;-) Sonia is alive and kicking ;-)

I'm interested in attending this... is it a public thing, or is it one of these 'by invitation only'?
thanks!

Press/media-only I suspect.

That's a shame, is there anywhere else that it'd be possible to see the 378 on this day?

If they hold it in the bay then it's on view to the public. Also you can stand on the public footbridge that goes over the mainline and look toward the Tmd or from platform 5.

When "LO" was launched they sheeted off the bay road on three sides so that any decent observation/photography was damn-near impossible. All access to the event itself was tightly controlled from a desk at the south end of the Up DC platform and despite many 'goody bags' seemingly left over none were available to non-accredited persons. Maybe more luck this time?

let's quite simply hope so! I don't even expect a goody bag, just a 378?!

Annoyingly I was meant to be at the press event this morning (no doubt Boris is claiming it was all his idea as I post), but a work crisis meant I was unable to attend.
Can anyone confirm that they've actually entered passenger service yet? I don't want to do a Reconnections post until they do.

Have you read that artice? Spot the mistakes -
"The first of dozens of air-conditioned trains destined for London Overground lines is to be unveiled later, with 24 rolled out across the week."
"The first new trains on the network for 30 years"
