That's nice of the transit athority!. In Melbourne you get a slap, on the back of the head, when you leave a job! . (involving trains) Actually CT when you retire you and your wife(if your married) get free travel. Plus if you do work for the railways you get free travel. Familes can get free travel. But that can only happen when the person working in the railways applys for Leave and applys for a pass. Thats only for Victoria though I don't know about other states. I don't know if that will change when the Smartcard ticketing system comes in.

Ours seem to be a Mix of Green, Yellow and Black for unleaded. It really depends on the station.

It's been raining here scince Sunday but it has been on off. It got pritty heavy Sunday night. The wind didn't make it any better. It made all the white streetlights in the area go out.

In Australia, there is currently much political finger-pointing about petrol hitting the "unaffordable price" of $1.35 a litre. That is about 55p. It's been about a $1.45 in Melbourne. I do think it has been higher though.

You make some good points there CSLR. He's asked me to get him a few maps and such. It will be interesting what he gets up to while in London.

On friday at 12 noon our time I observed my own 2 minutes of silence. I had finished my work early so I flicked over my watch to timer mode and timed 2 minutes.

While both personally and professionally I agree - it doesn't make an unstaffed station "unsafe". I absloutly agree. Around here many stops are not staffed period. Westall is a prime example. PL1 has the old station building which is not staffed at all, 1 CCTV camera looking at the Talking brick. PL2 has a small bus shelter, 1 CCTV camera looking at the Talking Brick. Do I feel unsafe: Absloutly not! While I do feel safer at a Staffed Station I don't feel unsafe at one that isn't staffed.

That's the spirit! At these times all you can do is grin and bear it. Got into work about 20 minutes ago, found out it was signal cabling that has been vandalised! More cut & removed Is it copper cable? Copper prices are high apprantly. This could be the case.

I have a feeling it's not the GPS transponder itself, but the area it sits in. The difference between the first 6 and the rest is the shape of where the transponder sits on the DM. The first 6 seem to have the cutout in the curved roof above the Intercar door while the rest of the Fleet have a curved roof.

The Difference between the first 6 refurbs and the rest of the fleet is the location of the GPS transponder/Reciver. The first 6 have it on the rear of the DM the rest have it some where else.? Am I closer?

On looking at a few photos of the refurbs and being close with the GPS equipment. I'm thinking now the opposite of that: The GPS equipment is on the roof?

A wild guess: The GPS transponder isn't on the roof?

Yes Its is a periscope. The guard used it to see the siginal(most likely the ones he/she couldn't see from the door). Its not used anymore due to going DOO. I don't think it can be used now. All the Comengs were refurbished. The Hitachis also have this and are also not used.
