Scince he is going over there in July, Phil could buy him a coke. Easy way to solve that problem. Although that won't happen. CT wouldn't know where the photo was taken.

You are correct. It is a a pedestrian gate. Heres the original photo. The gate in the photo wasn't working properly. It was shutting halfway and stopped. A Little info on these gates: The gates begin a high pitched ring whitch starts about a second before the Level crossing bells activate. They then shut and the train passes. The ringing stops when the Level Crossing Gates begin to rise. About a 10 seconds later the gates on the Ped crossing open.

Yes I did take the picture. Yes it is accessible to the public. It is automatic. It the Bar is attached to another bar which it attached to a motor. It moves the Metal bar in the right hand corner.

It's not a part Boom gate. It is close to a boom gate though. Most Melbourne level crossings have this.

Yesterdays offering was a serving of fish and chips. Oh! Which was the fish and which was the chips? *laughing* The chips are the long rectangle looking and have potato in them. The fish is the white thing that is covered with batter. (yes I do know what you are doing. I figured it out last night)

I've seen a dot matrix indicator with "See front of train" on it - obviously they didn't know where the next train was going! All we need now is a cab selector that gives the option to show "See platform display" Or our equivllent. Platform PID: LISTEN FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS Train Destenation: CONNEX At least yours tell you that the train goes somewhere. Our TV screens at Flinders Street are unreadable in light and they flicker. Well the last time I was there. Makes fun gussing what train is next. The wonders of modern technology! I never remember enamel signs fickering. They ain't as modern as you think. Heres a pic to see what they look like. nexas.fotopic.net/p3619578.htmlThe ones in the City loop don't flicker. All they do is go diffrent colours when they say 1MIN
