Northumberland Park and Angel Road are grim. The latter is one of the deadest stations in London, so you'll more than likely be on your own. Set within an industrial estate and the North Circular going overhead. Must be fun after dark.

Speaking as an LU Station Supervisor AND enthusiast, it may be worthwhile having a quick word with the Supervisor whether or not it would be ok to take some pictures. Most staff won't have an issue with it, providing you're not doing anything against LU rules, tripods, flash, obstructing etc.

18/20. Wrong zone picked for Clapham Common, and picked the wrong station on the Central line west of Marble Arch.

Great thread, thanks for the info and pictures. I'm too young to remember the 127s, but I do remember the 104s, 117s and the 121 bubblecars. The line is obviously much better nowadays than it used to be, back then a half hourly service and hourly in the late evenings, and no service on Sunday's..The line was plagued by frequent cancellations, due to units failing, sometimes at the last minute. I remember reading back in the early 90s, that said the units were from Bletchley, not ideal! The guards back then were based at St Pancras, area manager at Watford, and signalling partly controlled from somewhere East, can't remember where. Much better for the public nowadays, but it has IMHO it has lost lots of its character. Still a great little link though.

C2C were originally going to get some units from Heathrow Express, the contract was about to be signed then cracks were found under the Class 332s so the deal was halted. Good job that Porterbrook did a speculative order for 20 Class 387/3s.

Really winds me up regarding the closure: "If I had known about this, I would have gone a different way!" You did know about it - you just didn't bother checking your route before you left. Stupid woman! I don't think I'd last long as a CSA somehow! She ignored the posters, announcements, didn't ask the staff beforehand about weekend closures, or checked the TFL website. It's her own fault, no one else's.

How long it takes to rerail a train varies considerably depending on several factors, including the access issues, how much of it has derailed (e.g. derailment of one axle will be much quicker to sort than a derailment of three carriages), and what damage it has caused to the track and/or train. It was one of the first wheels of the leading bogie.

Cashless payment (oyster, contactless debit, apple pay etc) is obviously the way to go, but what crass thinking left Victoria with only 4 machines the day after the TO closed? The same people who are moving station supervisors from the likes of Roding Valley and Theydon Bois to places like London Bridge and Waterloo. I station familiarised three new station supervisors recently. None are trained in lift and escalator operation, platform edge doors, control room equipment or the fire control panel. Madness. Thanks to 'Fit for the future' there will be 800 less staff on the network. The system is at breaking point now. I was 5 staff short yesterday. So the future looks bleak.

According to an internal LU bulletin, the replacement was taken from Roding Valley. I suppose it's a lot quicker than waiting for one to be supplied.

North End is correct, the problem is at Bow Substation, a faulty transformer needs replacing. Until that happens, services through the area are being thinned out.

Large sheets of metal and wood are thrown onto the track which then gets wedged under the train. BTP have stepped up patrols in the area.

Yes a defective train at Oxo on the South. The station quickly became overcrowded and closed. Sensitive door activation, followed by someone taken ill, then multiple passenger alarms operated. Then no forward movement. Train shut down and opened twice, only RM mode was available so it limped to Victoria sidings to stable. Not a good service by any stretch!

It closed to allow a person who had died on the station to be brought to the designated room.It then closed again briefly just after 1800hrs to allow the Coroner to collect the body.
