Probably predicting which Wimbledon train would arrive first, one from Edgware Road into pfm.4 or one from the City into pfm.3 or 4?

Due to the impending RMT strike, it was thought wise, by someone, to bring the three engineering trains for the weekend work from Ruislip overnight Thursday and stable them in platforms 1-3 at Wimbledon! This only leaves pfm.4 free for the 10min Edgware Road service.

I think that was already answered in post 2 and other linked thread. No sure it's "we", more likely "you".

There was no requirement for stabled trains to display an oil lamp. Traction current would usually remain on in depots. Movement speed in depots is very low and obstructions should be seen.

jimbo did explain in the post above that the two cars were colloquially known, by a small minority, as C08 Stock. I don’t believe this was ever used in official circles.

R Stock were the last to use oil lamps, ending in 1983. The main reason was that the twin electric lights were single fused and if that blew there wouldn’t be any light. CO/CP and earlier Stock only a single electric light. Tube Stock were converted to double fuses much earlier therefore the use of oil lamps ended before. (I had great pleasure in always maintaining a lit oil lamp on the rear of my train while acting as Guard, much to the annoyance of my drivers!) previous thread, in which I gave much the same reply! use of oil handlamps

It was installed not long before the units went off for refurbishment. Unit 7008, containing the trial refurbishment car 17008, was the first to receive it when displayed at Wimbledon station in January 2002 and that other units started to get it from March 2002, the armrests were also changed from brown to black. Unit 7008 initially fitted with blue/green/yellow/black trial moquette but this was swiftly changed. Cab seats certainly had more than three moquettes, with W&City '92 Stock, Victoria '67 Stock and red bus to name three extra

Very much still on the cards. ‘Relocate’ is not mentioned other than “accommodate the Museum’s requirements” which could mean temporary storage of artefacts and vehicles while a purpose built facility is built rather than the converted workshop now on the site.
Brook House at 100 Gunnersbury Lane, beside Museum Way, has recently been boarded up ready for demolition. TfL are also relocating staff car parking on the Acton Town/Acton Works site, in readiness for the forthcoming redevelopment of Bollo Lane south side.

Yes, one train is now withdrawn from service each autumn (from 2017) to provide two 3-car trains for RAT duties, one at each end of the Line. Units 868 and 890 are capable of being converted from passenger use to RAT working each season. A specially adapted trailer car in each unit. earlier thread describing the work: districtdavesforum.co.uk/post/450406/thread
