His latest names his top ten Underground stations. His number 1 was a bit of a surprise.

Sounds possible, when they first started running(with Rheostatic cut in)there were a few complaints that the braking was too fierce.

We have them on the Central line. Parallel running from North Acton to West Ruislip, West Acton to Ealing Broadway and technically at Stratford although we'd have to clear the platform to get a derailed 1992 stock onto Network Rail. We also carry detonators which are supposed to be placed 2km from the derailed train, by the time we got there any train approaching would have turned up! Thought detonators were removed years ago as a H&S issue.

Is that the way they are going, now, or was it a blip? Some S stock units have been in service 13 years now. Are we sure "traditional Underground material" lasted 13 years without signs of wear ? 13 years approaches the nominal "traditional" 40 year book life of such assets. Are we sure that "traditional" LU stock only got re-upholstered twice in their working lives - once at 13/14 years, once at 26/27 years ? Seats were recovered on HO at Acton works every 5-6 years

Are there three pit roads in London Road Depot currently? If not, this must be a proposal to build some to modern standards, and presumably modify the present one to match. If memory serves, think there are 4 or 5 pit roads undercover.

London Rd pits would need to be deepened and lengthened at the moment you’ve got to crawl on your hands and knees under a train as I found out one night when a train came o/s with locked wheels.

Don’t suppose it’s feasible now, when the Bakerloo was shut for a few months between Piccadilly Circus and Elephant,4 trains were outstabled at Neasden which were recycled 2 trains a night Monday to Friday.

They’ve got them at SMD,there’s no steps down instead there’s a ramp and there’s no side walls.

The original pit roads are still in situ at London Rd but are useless as anyone over 5ft has to bend double to get under a train.

Wasn’t the traction equipment on the Central Line upgraded with the introduction of the 92TS?
