Remember the old days LT had it’s own food production centre at Croydon, they even employed their own rat catcher.Don’t mean Croydon had it’s own rat catcher, guy used to go round system when vermin reported.

Used to hate prepping trains on those roads, you had less that an hour to prep four trains before traction current went off.

Miss the 62TS esp the DHC compressors. They were much better than the pile of c**p that replaced them.

Why did LUL spend all that money converting them to battery locos only to have them rusting in Ruislip Depot awaiting disposal?

There’s a very sharp left hand bend as train leaves WB tunnel.

Vigilance button was cut out when in tripcock mode, was a tripcock/vigilance switch in offside equipment cabinet.Train would’ve been restricted to 10mph with vigilance cut in.

When 67TS went on other lines they were double manned as they didn’t have a deadman’s valve.

Used to have coasting spots under the old Victoria Line system,Finsbury Pk to Seven Sisters NB was virtually freewheeling all the way.Suppose with the increased services they’re not needed now.

Remember when 62TS reigned on Central Line, powers that be decided to put rewinding motors out to contract rather than use the winding shop at Acton.Lo and behold within 3 months we had a lot of motor flashovers.

I thought the problem with the locos was too much unsprung weight causing bad vibration to surface buildings.

Before a proper fire alarm system was installed at Hainault Depot the alarm was the Depot Foreman walking round the depot with a football rattle.
