According to Diamond Geezer ( blog post) there's also a similar thing with the Hopper fares... Makes perfect sense to me though.

Old stock verses not being able to go somewhere due to signal failures - I know which I’d rather have...

class411 I (currently) get paid on the last Friday of the month, so there are occasions where it's 5 weeks between pay dates. My biggest thing is that a change of job will take me back to being paid in the middle of the month.

As much as it might have some limited application, automation is not the be all and end all, and nor should it be. Try telling that to my bosses... Running an effective service during disruption is an art form, and long may it remain that way. We don't need further deskilling. Personally, for all I'm a programmer and all that... I'd much rather there was still a human involved!

Yeah, I hope you realise what a sacrifice I’m making: gin at the airport is free. I’ve got to pay for it with you lot. You just need to be the last person to buy a round... by then they'll all be too drunk to notice ;-)

Amersham - city every 20mins/4tph I'm assuming that's just the Met services? Although you can't run every 20 mins and run 4 trains per hour as far as I can tell.

(Similarly, I was watching a drama recently that was supposedly set in Manchester, but in one scene a London bus was clearly seen) A parade of shops in Ickenham has meant to have been Oxford before... so I guess that's not unsurprising :-)

Low voltage things definitely don’t tend to like having high voltage through them as the OH discovered when he put 240v through a 24v component.

I assume the sections missing are because of inter-stock working?

I've never been to the west end of the Central, so it's not there. It might be a delight to behold... A little bit away from there is quite nice 😉

I wonder if the Door Locking was added to meet modern H+S standards or connected to it running down at Swanage?

This might seem a silly question, but could one RAT not be used for both ends, just running "off" through the tunnels?

Very much this, Chris M - It's not relevant to the "Status" of a station!

Ah, you learn something new every day... I did wonder why they'd have done that paint job to the Chesham Set!

The 4 Class 20s and 2 Barrier Wagons are part of the S-Stock delivery / return process... They're quite often sitting there, as is often an S-Stock train.

Had an email from TfL just now about signalling damage on the Picadilly Line before they started running trains.
I'm intrigued as to how that sort of severe damage would occur and not be noticed as a it deteriorated?
