1 car could cope off peak! Might ve an issue with people falling out the back of the train 😀 On the subject of sudden stops - the other one I notice it on is the Bakerloo.

Black is black except when it's not black.
Should have seen the trouble we had trying to find paint for a theatrical stage. Think we ended up with liquorice!

There are now blue 'footprints' on the right hand side of both escalators at Marylebone - an extension of Passenger etiquette maybe? They alternate left and right at Vauxhall which is mixed messaging!

For those of us not "in the know" could someone also explain what the trial is?

I find it more amusing that from the bottom to the top, you can see a message printed on the uprights of each step... which isn't much use if you are on the Down escalator!

When I looked this morning there were too issues: Signal Failure out in the Ruislip direction and Holborn being shut.

Look at those muppets standing around on the platform. I'm sort of reminded of goo.gl/images/K7Xnry with this photo... I'm just glad I work from home on a Friday or I'd have quite likely been involved in this incident.

From Facebook:
"Here's our response to the incident on a Bakerloo line train at Oxford Circus this morning:
Nigel Holness, London Underground’s Director of Network Operations said: “At around 8:50am our staff were alerted to reports of smoke on a Bakerloo train approaching Oxford Circus. Our staff immediately contacted the emergency services, who quickly attended, and ensured customers left the train and exited the station. The cause of the smoke was an electrical fault under one of the carriages, which resulted in a small fire that was quickly extinguished. Understandably this was a distressing incident for our customers, for which I give my sincere apologies. A comprehensive investigation into how this incident could have occurred is now underway. Our Sarah Hope Line, which is set up to help those affected by incidents on the transport network, is also available to offer support. ”"

Conversely, it's also not a <somethin> Road as the others seem to be. Both options seem too obvious to me though...

It seems even the RMT can't use a photo of the correct stock...

Mainline trains are more at risk - their doors lock shut and have no sensitive edge system. It has happened too - Hayes & Harlington for example.

Favourite stock has to be the S-Stock for passenger reasons. Second for me would be the 09 stock.
I've come to the conclusion I'm just a modernist - at least on this topic!

Bakerloo Line trains seem to do that too to a degree whether by design or not.

I thought the slam door stock still running on the mainline now all had door interlocking on them... at least Chiltern's "Banbury Set" does.

Tate Britain is quite near, yes. Then Millbank Tower and Thames House (MI5 HQ) is next door again. There's quite a lot of footfall in the peaks based on experience...

According to TfL figures, 11.4m Entry/Exit occurred there in 2016, so it's not that quiet I'd have said

Surely once you are beyond Baker Street, it doesn't matter what sort of train it is until you reach Rayners Lane (if you're Uxbridge bound) or Rickmansworth (Amersham/Chesham bound) as they are all Met Trains?

Ruislip Depot not West Ruislip. Yes, I'm aware of that... was just using the terminology in the previous post that I responded to

Migration Area 13 will close Rickmansworth cabin automating Moor Park to Watford, Amersham and Chesham (Met only) What happens for Chiltern trains then if the automation is for Met only?

Why would the ATC testing be done at West Ruislip rather than at Neasden?

I'd imagine if control fails, that's the fail safe system so would seem logical to me.

The BBC said earlier: "Four Tube lines are still disrupted by a power failure at Earl's Court signalling centre,
The Circle line is suspended between Edgware Road and Aldgate via Embankment, while the District, Hammersmith & City and Piccadilly all have severe delays.
Meanwhile the London Overground has minor delays between New Cross Gate and West Croydon because of a faulty train at Brockley."

Sheffield Trams have much bigger displays than the S-Stock though... but they do show Purple, Blue and Yellow.
I was always amused by taking a tram to Halfway...

I'm sure in another thread someone said they were originally in scope but had since been descoped to save money.
