I went through my phone now and came across this from 2014. Its a 1973 Stock in Wood Green Siding. However, it is NOT mine, and unfortunately I have no idea where I originally found it, as I just saved it in my phone around two years ago. Perhaps someone will recognise it and find the original source.

. Once in service it will be very much the norm so I doubt many will focus on it any more than they have any other S stock after the initial introductory period... It will be in the same category as 3399 on the Bakerloo, or the C09s, or the 1956 stock mixed in with the 1959 stock. Most people won't notice, or care, but those in the know will look out for it as being ever-so-slightly special. Actually I think this time even non-anoraks will notice that the seats aren't the way they usually are, and some will probably complain about not getting a "proper" seat

It was so remarkably clean that I could see a lot of the under solebar detail that I'd never seen before

Does anyone know when the DVA on the Piccadilly Line will be updated to reflect the closure of Heathrow Terminal 1? This happened a year ago but the announcements still refer to "terminating at Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5". It seems the DVA on the 73 stock hasnt been updated for years, as it still mentions "Earls Court Exhibition Centre" at Earls Court, and makes no mention of the Circle Line at Hammersmith, so at least since 2009.

1) When a PEA is pulled, what does the passenger who pulled it see or hear? (And I'm still not sure if a PEA works if there is no power to the train?) Some PEAs have a little red panel which will light up with "Driver Aware" when pulled and "Speak to Driver" when the driver acknowledges. There is also an audible beeping noise which is emitted when a PEA is pulled, as seen in this video: (I've linked to the correct time)

Great! Should help sort out some of the leisurely running at times, and also some of the annoyingly slow approaches to stations. Hmm don't count on it. Brent Cross southbound platform ramp under manual driving with conventional signalling - 40 mph. Brent Cross southbound platform ramp under ATO with Seltrac - 22 mph. Plenty more similar examples. But isn't that due to the fact that Brent Cross is in open air and hence the dodgy Minimum Braking Rate of Seltrac? The ELL is mostly tunnel

Indeed the voice is the same (Celia Drummond) although it's clear that it's been recorded recently as its spoken at a slightly slower pace than the original announcements

Yes, the use of only two colours for the zones now that they are no longer concentric is starting to be inappropriate. Perhaps a major change is needed in this regard? Perhaps a return to multi-coloured zones like this?

I am struggling with the objections to multi-syllabled names. All Underground lines technically have a "the" in front of them and "Line" after them. Taking just names - Elizabeth and Victoria are 4 syllables. Metropolitan 5 syllables. Hammersmith and City 6. District and Central I grant you; Northern is also short at the moment but probably more after the split. So there may be other grounds for objection but length/polysyllablarity isn't one of them. I agree, I don't have a problem with the actual Elizabeth name, rather the fact that the removal of Crossrail branding has now resulted in a quasi-underground line which isn't really an underground line. This could be solved IMHO by just keeping the Crossrail bit in front of Elizabeth Line

3539 was scrapped, along with 4539, after a collision at Harrow and Wealdstone on the 29th of March 1994. 3249 and 4249 were also scrapped after a collision at Piccadilly Circus on the 22nd of April 1994.
3299-4299-4399-3399 is therefore a unique unit as the 33xx car is an UNDM instead of a DM. The unit is in fact made of 3357-4357-4257,which lost its DM 3257 in a derailment at Piccadilly Circus on the 3rd of December 1996. The remaining 3 cars where "turned", and along with a spare UNDM 3439, was made into a 4 car unit and then renumbered.

Following theblackferret's link, I notice a strange gap between Wood Lane and Shepherd's Bush on what was at the time, the Metropolitan Railway Are you sure the gap isn't just to fit in the words "WOOD LANE". I notice a similar gap at Notting Hill Gate

It does say the monitors in the drivers cabs near the bottom. And the spokesman is incorrect as South Harrow in on the Pic so 1973 stock so there are no monitors in the cabs.

92,95,96,09 and S stock all have In-Cab CCTV, with images being transmitted from platform mounted cameras to the cab.
Class 172 and 378 on LO also have In-Cab CCTV, albeit slightly different as the cameras are mounted on the side of the train instead of on the platform.
Only older stock, namely 72,73 and D78 use fixed platform mounted CCTV screens, as there is probably no practical/economical way of integrating some sort of CCTV display into the cabs. D stock will be replaced within a few months anyway, so only 72 and 73 stock will be left with fixed platform mounted CCTV screens, and this will almost certainly continue until the trains are replaced.

These are my wishlist items for 100 days and beyond too: - Key ticket offices should reopen. - Improve the balance between security and privacy in wake of a certain spying scandal by improving and assuring the confidentiality of customer and CCTV data. - Replace the annoying holograms with simpler digital signs. - Maybe scale down the Cable Car promotions so that Emirates will have less reason to keep the sponsorship. - A single but more unique jingle, and a single automated announcer for all station announcements like what the SNCF does: Ding dongs are getting boring after I visited France many times. - Multilingual announcements for certain topics (public safety, etc) to make tourism a lot easier. - A mascot for the tube, preferably a mole or a Japanese animé character. - Make the interior of the NTfL more exciting like the 1990s. - Bid to operate other metro systems like what RATP does. - Railfan windows that allows customers to see ahead like a normal window but not annoy operators. Although I know something like this exists, I don't remember the exact type of window that does that. - Update the Liveries to fit both the GLA and TFL brands. - Return the TfL logo to mixed case and remove the motto, as UPPERCASE text is basically shouting like that Drill Sargent in Apocalypse Now. - Line numbers and letters (Undergound Line 1=Bakerloo, Undergound Line 2=Central and so on; Overground A1=North London to CLJ, Overground A2 North London to RMD and so on). - Replace IE on all TFL computers with Firefox and Chrome because modern trend. - Rename a station Nelson Mandela since Paris names stations after famous people. - Have me look after the Tube Map like Paul Garbutt. The only thing I agree with is the hologram thing, which is truly awful and bizarre.
With regards to "railfan windows" I believe this is possible in places such as the NYC Subway where some stock have half width drivers cabs. All LU/LO/Future Crossrail stock have full width cabs, so I'm not sure how it would be possible.
As stated by others, most of the rest of the suggestions are either so trivial so as to be of little relevant to the public/ or simply comical.
Sorry!

Interesting to see some have Crossrail roundels outside. Can't wait to see the totems at Stratford Unfortunately the ones with Crossrail roundels/signs date from 2015, before the recent renaming d̶i̶s̶a̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ exercise

The link is dead
Here it is: content.tfl.gov.uk/rup-20160510-part-1-item05-md-report.pdf
Also interestingly on page 11 of the report it shows a new variation of the Wallace Sewell moquette which is used on the Overground:
"LO has a new moquette for its train seats. Created in preparation for the new West Anglia trains, it will be rolled out in late 2017. The design is a slight variation on the orange and brown that currently covers LO seats, introducing green to reflect the leafy areas of the capital connected by the railway."

As to whether or not more people will use it, depending on how the media now refers to Elizabeth Line construction and terms TfL staff use on opening day, you could have travellers trying to catch a Crossrail train, and being a little confused when directed to the Elizabeth Line. On a cheeky note, I do wonder how long it will he until someone mixes up the Victoria and Elizabeth when reporting or making a commute. At this point notices about construction/engineering work are all over the place. The Bakerloo closure at Paddington mentions "Elizabeth Line" but notices put up just this week at Whitechapel about trains non-stopping eastbound this weekend call it Crossrail
