I find some parts misleading why show the victoria line track when they are talking about of the Jubilee line? The BBC news often does the same for example I remember when they were talking about the Jubilee line with a 1967 stock as the picture! This series is good but i find its quite repetitive however much better than the ITV series of it

Really enjoyed tonight's episode. The tour of Down Street was a bonus, have seen many pictures but seeing it "live" was very interesting. Shame it was the final episode, been a very informative series without all the drama of screaming passengers and bitching staff (remember shows like Airline). The producers of the series should be very proud of their work.

Was that the last in the series? I'm not seeing it on again after tonight, but didn't think it really 'ended' as such...

I'm from New York City. I watched the first 4 episodes on Youtube. The first episode was very interesting. Tube employees have a lot of patience dealing with drunk and rowdy passengers. I also liked in the second episode how they discussed the S Stock and the third episode with the West Indian Parade (they have a similar parade in NYC). The fourth episode mentioned a station that was being renovated to add a new transfer, but I forgot the name of the station. It also mentioned that sometimes the platforms get so crowded that they have to close the station.

Fourth episode..I believe that were Bank but I can't remember either!
Yes, 3rd episode with Hogg the Hog..
Ahh, It's Tottenham Court Road, getting ready for Crossrail.

I believe so castlebar, he had much much camera time, and as he suggests, it's as if he's running the show!

Great episode once again! I did notice towards the start that an A Stock was displaying Whitechapel at what seemed to be Euston Square! The LU's service on the ELL has returned lol! No one really from top management either last night. I was very suprised that they still clean the tunnels with hoovers and have not got a special train to do this although I do believe there is once currently in the making

I loved the brief shot of a rat sticking its head up through a grating and then disappearing again - a relative of Ceiling Cat, perhaps? Grating Rat.

Ceiling Cat saw that and had to make an emergency appointment at The Clinic. Dylan kindly gave up one of his slots to make way for a very stressed out feline.

Well, that went out with an underwhelming whimper as far as we're concerned............
The first prog had the WOW factor, the last had me n CC wishing it was over. Last night's episode covered yet again much of what we've already seen. More P-Way laying rails and stations at night. Bad continuity throughout as per usual, but it did have some interesting things in it to see. Oh, the good thing about last night was it was about staff getting down n dirty and it wasn't the Howard n Dave Show that we've been treated to over the last few weeks.
That shunter has it easy on the Vic with his remote operation of points. At other depots like Hainault and West Ruislip, the points levers are pulled by hand with the shunters having to walk to get to them. The Fluffers were an insight too. We used to do a staff train that ran through the pipe first thing. The Fluffers and P-Way sometimes washed themselves on the platforms before going home.
From what I've been told, a lot more was filmed and not shown. In other words it ended up on the cutting room floor so to speak. The District Line was almost totally ignored throughout the whole series along with other things like call point Car Examiners < ( Oil can and hammer at the ready along with the only three letters in their alphabet - N*D*F ) Still, if it comes out on BBC Blu Ray, CC and I will certainly get it. Perhaps what was not shown will end up on the disc's *extras*................

Great episode again last night.
I really liked the positive attitudes of some of the night staff. Seems like there are some great teams working on the underground. I had no idea 'fluffers' existed, and its interesting that east and south london get more polyester fibres, and west london gets more cotton lol. It was also good to see the two young lads working their way up (the fluffer and the guy working with the power supply).
Throughly enjoyed this series. I expected there to be depressing parts (i.e. the attitudes from some of the passengers, and the suicides), and yes there was depressing parts, but interesting nonetheless. Definalty seem to be a lot of friendly and interesting people working with LU.
Hopefully there will be another series, although it seems to be one of those 'one-offs'.

Really liked the series. The short film "Under Night Streets", parts of which were used in Episode 6, is available on YouTube. The tour of Down Street was fascinating.

There have been previous series so I expect there will be more. I enjoyed it too, except the bits about A stock being taken away for scrap

I was disgusted to see that drunken idiot trying to attack and spit!!! at the station staff at Camden. I really dont envy those guys at all! Having been around Camden quite a lot and seen the idiots around there I can see why BTP nearly always have a vehicle down there on a Friday & Saturday. Overall I thought it was a great series. I really liked the fact we as viewers had full access right from the "top" management all the way down, quite literally! To the depths of the tunnels and the fluffers et al! Yes the continuity was not brilliant but lets not forget this was not made for us tube fans - it was made for mainstream television so there is bound to be elements which we spot but which many other people will not

Yes the continuity was not brilliant but lets not forget this was not made for us tube fans - it was made for mainstream television so there is bound to be elements which we spot but which many other people will not I think there was just one showing, in a board room meeting of the top man himself - Mike Brown. And I can't recall if he said anything or not. Unlike his predecessor Tim O'toole who would of been on screen for much of it explaining this and that. With hindsight, a great loss to The Tube was losing Tim. Anyway we got the Howard and Dave show instead. As far as I'm concerned the top people are the *fare paying* punters, even the silly footsie-in-the-doors ones. You could get rid of the top managers today and nothing much would change. Get rid of the punters and there would be no point to any of it and nothing to make a program about............ You have to hand it to the P-Way and the Fluffers. The former out in all weathers, the latter cleaning up other people's shedding. The deep level Tube is like being in a big tumble dryer. Warm air and windy. Most of the fluff isn't fluff at all, but the accumulated dust created by we hairless apes shedding our skins and then mixed up with the lint that comes off our clothes. Also there's dust from the friction brakes. Though it can't be as bad as it used to be as electric braking vastly reduces the brake dust from the brake blocks.

Power Control staff are still LUL employees. They will also be moving to the LU Control Centre (with NOC, TAC, BTP and others).
What was EDF Energy Power Link is now UK Power Networks Powerlink and is owned by three Hong Kong companies. It coincided with EDF no longer being in the game of being a UK DNO (Distribution)

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a DVD of the series? And if so, can it be sent to the United States? I'm really addicted to the series.

If "every second counts" for the permanent way teams, why do they have to wait at surface level until the power is switched off? Could they not be waiting on the platform for this to happen and so have an extra 2-5 minutes (or perhaps longer at places like Waterloo) on the track?

Because that's generally where a lot of their equipment is. The Protection staff should try and get to the platform so as to observe the last train(s) through the section and negate the need to make train set location inquiries with signal operators.

Don't forget also that until that last train passes through, a station is still open to the public.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a DVD of the series? All six episodes are still available on the BBC website, why not download them before they are removed.
