A nice touch on T125 as it waited west of Earls Court for a platform circa 740am this morning: the driver announcing 'there are only ten D stock trains left in London and they should all be gone early in 2017'.T125 is one of the core always D stock runs, and for regulars like myself on this service it was a nice touch given this leg is always virtually a crush load and badly needs to be an S stock. One hopes the eventual line upgrade increases direct trains to Central London at this time of day also. This train is eight minutes after the previous 'city' train and eight minutes before the next one, not optimal to being a D stock perennially.

Caused by a Point Failure at South Ken Regarding the failure of the train describer equipment at Putney Bridge this has always been a sore point as the interface between NR and ourselves are not great the only reliable part of that system down the Wimbledon branch especially on the E/B is the time left for the next train. From Parsons Green the system runs purely off the LU system and should be better. Wonderful, thanks for solving this one for me. As an occasional user of Parsons Green to catch the same service it was beyond me why Parsons Green always got it right. Thank you!

I would agree. The district line seems to be falling apart. The last two days have been typical in my recent experience. Yesterday morning, at 730am a train described as 'City via Victoria' at Putney Bridge turned out to be an Edgeware Road service, same today. There is a structural flaw in the train description software somewhere as this service seems to be labelled incorrectly every day I am there at that time. In the evening, with no Wimbledon service in sight at about 745pm from Westminster, got to Earls Court and waited twelve minutes for a Wimbledon train along with hundreds of others while we heard two 'it's a good service' announcements. This afternoon a Wimbledon train as described at Westminster became a Richmond at Earls Court, with another long wait at Earls Court for a Wimbledon branch train.

No horizontal grab rails either between the poles above head level. Those poles will have a lot of people trying to hold on to them, crowding the passengers in the seats around them.

Jubilee line trains are 8 car No Phil, they are 7 car extended from the original 6. Wider and longer platforms make sense if the train frequency has been maxed out. However the problem will just move to the station passageways and ticket barriers, which at some stations do not clear easily whatever the train frequency. For me, letting at least two trains go at Canary Wharf each evening before being able to get on one is normal. A wider longer platform may help. However,seeing the next Jubilee line train arrive in the platform before all passengers have cleared the platform via the escalators from the previous train is just as normal each morning. Even small stations like Putney Bridge are painful to exit each evening, and it has a second set of steps sitting idle so the remediation cost is minimal.

First post so a little about me: daily underground user, my interest in metropolitan transport systems started in Sydney where I was a long distance commuter for a decade before moving to London. Met some fine British railway people who were working for CityRail in Sydney, ended up on some transport forums and committees and even rewrote and upgraded the timetable for my commuter line which reduced the peak hour journey to Sydney by 7 minutes over a 80 minute trip.
To the point:Have become a daily user of Putney Bridge and noticed this evening a chap in a high visibility vest documenting the congestion on the new narrow platform 2. Any ideas as to when the scaffolding comes down and a wider platform is restored?
